Thanks for the video! Very interesting. A lot of work has been done, which deserves respect. I can't even imagine where I would restore such a huge oven, although two weeks ago, for about the same price, I saw a similar oven. Good luck to you!

Brilliant job Radek, when I watched you hammering the outside of the stove to remove the firebricks I thought you would never get the whole thing back together and working! How wrong I was. We've got the modern equivalent in the fireplace in our front room and it works very, very well to heat an old house in the winter - I think I've seen a similar one in some of your videos. It was nice to see you and Veronica working so well together. My greetings to you both, Nick.

THAT brought back some memories I'd just as soon forgot. We had a stove almost identical to that when I was a kid living in Talladega, Alabama, before the area became famous. We used wood to get it started then added a few lumps of coal once it was burning good. That was a time of my life I would never want to go back to.

Wow! You did an amazing job bringing this engineering masterpiece back to it's old glory. Beautiful!! I wish I had the old Monarch wood stoves we had in our home when I was young. I have restore a few old wood stoves and also a 1890s wood burning cooking oven. The main issue I tell people interested in using these is that some insurance companies won’t insure your home. Because they were never tested by an independent testing company. The seam gaskets go bad and then you have to take it all apart and reseal them. Nice video overall. Thanks

As a youth, I saw many of these along with large wood-burning kitchen stoves in the rural areas where we lived. We had minimal electricity as our only utility. You did a marvelous job in restoring this one. Cast Iron has a life span measured in light years. A lot of nasty work made this well worth the effort. Thanks!

Yeah, I have a cast iron sewing machine from 1882 that's still going strong.

Great restoration! Wasn't the handle ceramic though to resist heat? Wondering how the wood handle will hold up.

@John Connor Surely should be not wood.

Frankly it would be more safely reproduced with high temp plastic, which he could also turn on a lathe and paint. Ceramic would be perfect, but it doesn't look like he does ceramics.

Of course, the handle should be ceramic not wood.
