Wasn't Hashirama dead by the time of the Akatsuki? The Akatsuki was created during and after the 2nd Great Shinobi war, but canonically Hashirama died during the first great Shinobi war. So, Kakuzu saying he fought Hashirama was probably him fighting before he joined the Akatsuki, when he was on his own.

Obito didn't send Pain anywhere. Nagato went after Naruto himself - Obito had no control over Nagato's decisions for the Akatsuki, only had recommendations for members and plans.

Well he destroyed the village, beat Naruto. Later he fought the 9 tails. Then fought Naruto again. So if it was just 1 fight, he would have won. But so many fights one after another.. the chakra usage must have been gigantic

The funny thing is that this clip is actually canon. Shortly after they dipped, Pain decided to pull a Thanos and just do it himself. The rest is anime history.

In a sense he has a chance is very not sure, because if kurama really sought that he was in danger he would of released any genjutsu plus the multiple people protecting him is just insane and they would need to harm said people which could lead to a pain situation and at a kids stage it is very likely.

Tobi and Madara did it, so Itachi could do it too, if not better. - Second, even if we assumed he didn't have the capability, he still had koto amatsukami which was nigh unblockable. - Third, given he was a former exceptional leaf anbu, he could easily bypass the village's defense tracking coming and going as he pleases...which he did. - Fourth, no one in the village could've stopped him at full power from taking away genin naruto. Jiraiya and Guy would've been major pains for sure, but if he pulled a Tobi causing nine-tails to rampage, with Kizame on his side, the village was doomed. - Last, beyond everything he's capable of is the sealing ability of his Susano's totsuka blade...which is one of (or if not) the most broken ability with no downside in the series. Like...the third and fourth need to sacrifice their souls for that level of sealing, but he just needs to stab you.....that's wild.

Actually it does come with a down side, one less deadly than what the 3rd and 4th Hokages had to contend with, but you have to deal with some immense pain throughout your body from using the technique on top of losing your sight and thus slowly losing the a ility to use the Sharingan in the first place for such jutsu. It had its downsides but they were less than with most other sealing jutsus.
