@Toxicsarsvfx nah I honestly think lebron would have 6 rings if it stayed the same. The teams overall were even but he was the difference maker until KD came in and stole the rings 😂
unnecessary more than anything, what a shame, it would have been the greatest rivarly of our era, kyrie would have stayed i believe, and i also believe him and bron were just too good to lose if not for kd
I have this theory that if KD stayed in golden state and Kyrie and bron stayed in cavs, zero injuries, we’d see cavs vs warriors finals every year for a very long time.
@choyski because him joining the warriors made them overwhelmingly strong and what could have been the greatest basketball rivalry between curry and klay against lebron and kyrie became too one sided.
People forget really how good the 2016-17 cavs really were. They won 12 of their 13 games leading up to the finals. The trio of Lebron, Kyrie and Kevin Love was playing better than ever, and I think they were really able to build off of the 2016 year All to lose to the Golden State Warriors in 5 games. Imo this version of the warriors beats any of MJ's teams as the greatest team of all time. They were one win away from sweeping the entire playoffs
Man forget the bulls they would whoop any teams ass. Here is their accolades. They had two mvps (one back to back and unanimous). They had 4 allstars. 4 hofs. The two best 3 point shooters in the league and arguably the best 3 and d player in the league and top 5 shooting guard. 3 all nba players. One all defensive player, and dpoy. Two members of the 50/40/90 club. A finals mvp. The second and third best player in the world. All on one team. Nobody can name another team that talented with just their 4 main guys accolades.
You can't really compare eras though. And it's natural for the next generation to think their generation was better than the previous and vice versa. The 80s and 90s era basketball was definitely more defense oriented. That's why when I look back and great teams you can compare what they did in their era. Fact is, the Bulls won 6 out of the 6 championships they went to during that era and I haven't seen a team do that since.
Yeah that's the beef I have with KD. He just joined a rivalry out of nowhere. He should've tried to get the Thunder there or go to another team, but to join an established Finals rivalry? That wasn't right. I wanted to see Cavs vs Warriors like the Lakers vs Celtics of the 80s. Dude robbed us of a great rivalry.
@Andrew Blackop Na.. You don't get to play the injury card after the fact when those guys were in the games.. GS was talking mess until they lose.. Then they wanna blame injuries 🤣🤣🤣
Cleveland lebron post Miami, was the peak of his prime imo, night in and night out he was amazing to watch still gave us greatness before and after but that stretch was his best to me
I mean that was his athletic peak but lebrons all around peak was his years in Miami I mean he was way stronger he had a way better post up game he also shot the ball way better especially at the free throw line. His defense was way better as well since he was bigger in Miami.
@Cody Eble Albeit, he was not as good as his peak defensive years when he was considered DPOY level. I mean if we look at advanced stats and we compare it to an arguably extremely average defender in Tobias Harris who has averaged 2.27 in defensive win shares over his career, whereas Lebron averaged 3.125 from Miami onwards. He has been above average defensively post Miami and he definitely has the capabilities to play great defence but doesn't due to age and preserving his body for the playoffs. I don't know if you remember but he was actually 2nd in the DPOY race in early 2021 but Solomon Hill dived into his ankle and got him injured. Many fans who have grown tired of seeing him dominate seem to now nit pick at certain defensive plays disregarding factors like age and preservation which restrict him from staying a great defender the full season. The only season I will give you in which he arguably didn't play defence is this season in which I've seen a massive drop in effort in team defence and switching. Basically people say he hasn't played defence since Miami but that's relative to his defensive value in those previous years. Throughout the league, he has been at the very least, a slightly above average defender for the past few years.
@Jeph no trust me he literally plays no defense now, he doesnt even put in the effort unless he can get a highlight, good contests mean nothing to him.. he's literally had teammates push him into playing defense (kuzma) and as the leader of the team when he didn't play defense neither did any of the Cavs teams he was on (until the playoffs) and he used every ounce of energy in offense, to be fair he was asked to do everything on offense but still at least try
@Noah Risner Facts. Remember he nearly dunked from the FT line in I think 09? There’s a video on YT of it but it’s filmed from someone’s phone and it’s a relatively unknown dunk. He FLEW.
This series ended 4-1 if you look at that youd think its a murder which it pretty much was whenever bron went to the bench but the entertainment this series brought with all that talent especially jr in game 5 🤦♂️ kyrie just had to leave
Nah, anything involving the KD Warriors is automatically disqualified from greatest quarter talks. The Cavs had LeBron and were the defending champs and you knew they had no chance to win this series, so even if the quality of play is good, when the outcome isn't in doubt, it loses a lot of it's significance.
Im a Lebron fan but I got mad respect for Curry not even because he praises Lebron, but as a great basketball player and of course you gotta respect this guy's shooting 🔥 dude is crazy with it.
it's NOT lmao. i remember being a non warriors fan complaining every damn day. the only chance we had to beat them is the Rockets which failed miserably.
@Dixie Normis no, he is saying because he is a pure warriors coattail rider guy, he loves warriors, and is a stanguy of that team, I see him everywhere chant inaccurate info about how curry is top 3 in the NBA of all time, how he is better than kobe, how warriors with KD would sweep or destroy every team in all time history, all sorts of stuff
Um no. This is when the nba had no parody. There’s no fun for a non warriors fan watching games knowing there’s no chance of anyone beating the warriors in the finals it was a 73-9 team with the second best player in the league added to it. Pretty much ruined the excitement of watching any games at all when the final outcome of the season was pretty much carved in stone before the season even started. You just must underage and don’t remember basketball before this rivalry because you didn’t watch any
What? Really? These were the dark ages of the NBA for most people. The league was so top heavy with very few teams competing for the chip. GS vs Cavs was basically a guarantee, so the league was predictable and, at times, not worth watching. Most fans vastly prefer where the league is at currently. Predicting who will be in the finals seems nearly impossible this year because there are so many teams that have a legitimate shot at winning it all.
Was this the one with Curry, Klay, KD, Iggy, Green, and JR Smith, Kyrie, Love, Lebron, and Thompson? I can't tell but this was my favorite rivalry teams.

@TheOnlyGoodOneHere excuses excuses. K love is 26 and 12 player at his peak. If Lebron can’t fit a guy of that talent level and ends up marginalizing him into a role player because of his glaring shortcomings as a player. That’s his fault. And let’s not forget that Kyrie played at an mvp level in those finals. That was a 1a 1b title. Which further diminishes the value of that asterisk ring
@vroomvroom kevin love just didn't fit, period, they would have been better off with richard at pf, look at game 3 of 2016, again not a cavs or lebron fan, I hated them when they were around
@TheOnlyGoodOneHere that’s my point. Just cause Bron turned Klove into a bum to the point that he became a detriment doesn’t change the fact that he had a superteam. If anything that makes Lebron look even more pathetic 😘
I think this pandemic has taught people the importance of multiple streams of income, unfortunately having a job doesn't mean security rather having different investments is the real deal.
You guys are still on about that lmao. For the people who’s tarted watching golden state when curry got there… it’s been like well over a decade dude. Kinda hard to call people like they bandwagons, that’s just being a fan for - what - 13 years.
@TeeKay yep this is even the best Cavs team of all time and i would to say this is the best team LeBron ever had if KD is not the Warriors the Cavs 100% will beat them in series bcuz this Cavs is that good they even have Deron Williams and this is not the best quarter of NBA of all time lol
if cavs played much better defense, maybe an even matchup, or if they got rid of klove, and put in a defensive big man, that could kind of shoot, and they learned how to move the ball around then maybe, I notice a lot of the warriors base runs in delusion, even our celtics base wasn't this delusional when we battled teams like lebron's cavs, or magic, etc., even now, when we beat bucks in playoffs injured, I can admit the bucks win healthy as it was lopsided
Nah, it was definitely not even😂😂2015-16 was even, Cavs couldn't match the Warriors scoring anymore once KD joined, shooting was just too much to overcome, Warriors offense became so difficult to stop
