This is true dedication. To think Jay went ahead and found a woman, made her fall in love with him, move in, made a baby , waited 9 months to be born. All of this for a Surfshark VPN ad-read.

Frank pick is honestly one of my favorite person portrayals in the whole of unfinished London so far
@gazzamuso
I am a train driver and yes, Jay is correct - you don't need to know the twists of the track at all. Our 'maps' of the railway, called S&I diagrams, represent everything in either straight lines or draws junctions in perfect geometry e.g. 45 degree angles then continuing as more straight lines.

Harry Beck's initial map design was huge. My grandmother (his niece) remembered seeing him climbing all over the dining table in his parent's house in Highgate making alterations and corrections.

I love how Jay's same friends have appeared in the skits in this series for 10 years now. Quite wholesome
@Redscum91
I love that Geoff Marshall is involved with the bits, but somehow even more I love the idea of Jay going into a London bistro of some description and saying "yes, just a plate of spaghetti please" and then a little while later "a big pile of spaghetti.... yes, just a massive pile of it."

You should do this as an actual TV series, you're a great presenter

The fire exit being used for firing and the sign next to it changing every time it comes up, the rewatch value in this channel is insane

Honestly magnificent - i wish I was an advert baby, back when I was a baby that could have been in adverts. Also Frank Pick, amazing that you managed to get the man himself on the film!

The Frank Pick joke is so perfect. Go on, google the man. Every photo of him he has the same expression and pose.

This was dangerously close to being an episode of map men
@jwcoolcat
My favorite Jay Foreman gags are always the very subtle tweaks he makes to classic phrases to fit with the story. Little stuff like saying ‘all under London’ instead of ‘all over London’.

Love the cue mark that appeared just before the advert, great throw back and attention to detail.

For anyone wondering about Frank Pick, he's not like that at all in real life 😂

Hot take: the Beck map is not the ideal public transport navigation solution. It's good at what it does, but it's only good for one thing: finding a route from one station on the network to another. But it's absolutely useless for the end-to-end task of navigating a city. You can shout "Moorgate" or "Waterloo" or "shepherd's bush" at any London tourist, and they'll find you a reasonable route to there from any other station on the Beck map. But what they don't get out of that is knowing which stations are appropriate start and end points for any journey they want to make. For that, they have to have a completely separate map reflecting the above-ground geography and where the stations actually are. I actually think the New York map is brilliant. It doesn't completely stick to physical geography, and it follows a lot of Beck's conventions, but it actually gives you useful information about major landmarks and above-ground features which the Beck map doesn't. It distorts the geography enough to make it more of a diagram than a map, but at the same time, it preserves enough of the geography to give the map some use to locate which stations you want to get on and off at.

If you’re wondering how they got Geoff to perfectly nail that ‘dead inside’ stare, they told him to ‘imagine a world without trains’
@cubes7805
The fact that Jay had to actually go to a restaurant and buy a plate of spaghetti AND get more to fill on his plate
