From a story perspective it was pretty stereotypical, but from an action and character standpoint it was freaking fantastic. The action/chase scenes and CGI were amazing, and Dr. Fate stole every scene he was in, it was incredible. Extremely entertaining film, just don’t go in expecting like Infinity War or something.

Was not expecting a Black Adam reaction at all but I am glad to see it nonetheless!

Honestly, considering how hard The Rock was apparently pushing for this movie to be rated R, I think that there were plans to make Black Adam a lot more sinister and a true anti-villain. Only for it to be shot down in favor of playing it safe.

43:20 I believe that is one of the contributing factors for Henry Cavill's decision. But the main reason why he left the show as because they failed to faithfully stick to the source material. He even said he was willing to do around seven seasons if the showrunners remain faithful. So even though he got back into the superman role, Henry Cavill probably could've found some way to do both if one respected his wishes.

40:30 That is usually kind of what always happens to Hawkman in almost any adaption outside of comics he usually spends most of it just getting his ass kicked, despite him (& Hawkgirl/woman) supposedly being amongst the greatest fighters, and that's if they just don't die for the plot since reincarnation is usually a part of their powerset. While some versions have actual wings the ones with artificial wings I believe are supposedly still connected to their body at like the shoulder blades/muscles, or some kind of vestigial bone or muscle in that area that their reincarnations have or develop.x

Halkman's wings being connected to him in some way isn't unprecedented. It's not like Ironman tech, it's typically either magical or alien, likely the former here.

Black Adam was hinted at in the movie Shazam. The Wizard tells Billy that they had chosen a "first champion" who turned evil. That's Black Adam, Black Adam and Shazam have the same power-set.

Henry Cavill being Superman did not interfere with The Witcher, he could have done both. He left because he is not happy with the writers straying so far from the source material.

Dwayne was cast as black Adam over a decade ago when he wasn't cringe at all. He also looked alot like comic books black Adam when he was younger especially when he had that slight receding hairline.

This reaction had me weezing. Also Hawkman's wings come out of him not the armour. The armour reacts to when he brings his wings out to then protect them. They are wings of a hawk so the can get damage. So when Sabac was pulling them out it was like getting a body part pulled off.

Dwayne Johnson is the best pick for the role of the titular character. Since this is a spin-off to the Shazam movie, I do hope that DCEU will plan to have a showdown between Black Adam and Shazam. And the only cameo I didn’t even expect to see is Henry Cavill coming back as Superman.

This version is loosely based off the new 52 Black Adam. Contrast to the comics, he and his nephew were chosen to share the power. While the nephew had hope, the uncle didn't. So while calling on the power to transform both of them, the uncle killed him and took all the power for himself.

Idc what anybody says, I loved this film. Except the ending cause it felt a little rushed & I guess it makes sense since they cut out so much so that it wouldn’t get a rated r rating, but besides the ending, the film was solid & the action was cool. The special effects were cool to look at too

Fun fact: The Rock actually convinced Henry cavill to come back as the "Man of steel", which is what surprised me the most when I watched this, on the first day it came out. For me, Black Adam, Hawkman and Doctor Fate were the only ones who stole the whole movie. From learning about Black Adam's history and his power capabilities to seeing him deal with heroes and learning more about the world he now lives in...I can't WAIT! to see how Black Adam will react, when he finds out, there's someone else with the same powers as him.

They changed how he got his powers compared to the comics. In the comics it was his nephew who was chosen then when his nephew told him he got powers the nephew decided to share them with him after the nephew says Shazam he kills him keeping all the powers for himself.

Something kinda funny and kinda cool to me is that the actor who played Hurut in his Shazam form also plays one of the young versions of The Rock on his show "Young Rock".

This movie pretty much carried the soul of the current DC comic era to the big screen. The convoluted plot, the ironic hero logic, the dialogue, the setting's atmosphere... it all feels like reading a new 52 comic.

I thought Black Adam was a solid movie for sure. Better than some of the DCEU films by far. I liked the visuals, humor, action scenes, cinematography, costume and set desings, easter eggs and musical score. The CGI was great too in my opinion. The story was interesting but did suffer a bit due to alot of the other stuff happening and it kind of got lost because of it. I did liked the addition of the JLA with Dr. Fate and Hawkman being my favorites besides the main character Black Adam. The supporting cast was ok in my books as well. Was nice seeing Amanda Waller, Emilia Harcourt, Shazam and Superman in the film. It was basically a mix of Moon Knight, 300, Shazam, Aquaman, Man of Steel, X-Men: Apocalypse and Black Panther. The musical score was also interesting in the sense that it had this hip-hop vibe to it and made it surprisingly upbeat and catchy. I liked that even though I am not a fan of actual hip-hop music like that. Overrall, I really enjoyed this one. To some, this will not be your cup of tea. If you're a comic book fan or just like live action superhero/villain movies, this is for you. I give this a 7-8/10.

Dwayne fought years to keep Henry and to keep as close to the comics as he could. The changes in power behind the scenes is how they pulled this off. As a DC property this was a great movie.

So for sure this set up of him joining the league plus they need to recruit other strong powered beings be good or evil when darksied and his army invade earth. Also note something major recently: James Gunn who is know co ceo(?) for these films mentions he wish to set up a “kingdom come like scenario.” So that basically hints what the set up for future films now.

Hey everyone, luvn the channel, watching ur Bullet train reaction was dope, what a crazy movie!! I Mr Adam in theatres and yeah script is a little too straightforward but its just so much fun, didnt expect it to be so enjoyable...Dwayne as Black Adam is cool, JSA are so good and make the movie, especially Hawkman and my fellow Irish man Pierce as Doctor Fate, film had great action and funny as hell..it had problems though, main villian was awful, the kid in it reminds me of the kid in Star Wars Phantom menace that u just wanted someone to punch..Im not goin to lie though even with its flaws and simple storyline its the comic book movie i most enjoyed in theatres this year and i saw them all..Hope u enjoy, 1 am here so will watch ur reaction tomorrow...Anybody watching this movie for themselves, just rent it, turn off ur brain and enjoy the experience! The Mid Credit scene though, shit is short but crazy!!

I'm kind of surprised they didn't have Hawkman and Fate (specifically Nabu, the spirit in the helmet) already know who Black Adam was. They could've been around the same time one point.

Only thing I have a problem with is people saying Black Adam was an antihero because he was killing people in this when Captain America moon night and hell even in this universe Batman have killed the same number of people if not more. They should have tweaked it a little more to where his morals were even more extreme that way he could be a true antihero.

When the wings aren't tucked into his body they are attached to his back and nerves. So yeah, that hurt. He and Fate are candidates to die in most IPs because Nabu can just find another host magic user and Hawkman and Hawkgirl are constantly reincarnating into new lives. Yes, in some iterations Black Adam does age rapidly if he depowers but that's usually when the wizards send him far away instead of sealing him. He can say Shazam, but he usually uses it as an AOE attack or he and Shazam holds someone like Superman between themselves and the lightning. No Henry Caville was said to be fighting with the directors constantly to the point of shouting matches almost becoming physical, Henry Caville is a huge nerd when it pertains to Witcher, DC, & Warhammer 40K so he wants to keep the Witcher grounded in the lore of the books or at least the game, but the directors were said to actively bash the lore from both IPs even in front of him. So, he said I'm out and now there's a petition for Netflix to fire the directors and bring him back, was at 85k last time I checked in less than 3 days.

With the introduction of Superman at the end of this movie and the upcoming Shazam movie, we will very likely get Superman and Shazam vs Black Adam like in the comic books, which I’m excited for.

Man, Hawkman and Doctor Fate were incredible in this film.

This was a fun movie. The plot wasn’t all there, and a LOT of the dialogue was really corny, but the action was great and they did good job of portraying how much of a powerhouse Black Adam was.

The reason the wings hurt when ripped off is because nth metal binds itself to the user when dawned. Allowing for better control and adaptability. So his wings being ripped off although not organic is the same as halving his arm torn in half

It's just Superman, I think Supergirl (I don't really know or care if she's canon to this timeline), I think Starfire (I don't know if that stupidly edgy Titans show is part of this universe and frankly I don't care; how the fuck did they get like 4 seasons, was it really that good?), and Martian Manhunter.

A few silly jokes aside, it was a good first movie for Black Adam. I think Dwayne Johnson strove to deliver something of quality, as well as something that the public wanted and wants: Henry Cavill as Superman.

Apparently, there was suppose to be an end credit scene showing Fate's helmet reappearing showing that he's still alive. Maybe not Kent, but there have been many over the years

I have a feeling something Shazam does will make Black Adam leave Kahndaq or Shazam will enter Kahndaq space and create an issue in which Superman has to appear to help him fight black adam because we all know Shazam at this point has no chance of taking a W solo

Cavill didn’t want to continue his version of Geralt because he felt like the writers for the Witcher were straying from the source material like the games and books which he was so passionate about but he always wanted to be Superman again and try to fit it in with that schedule of his shootings he was just waiting on that call and a deal he could be happy with tbh and it wasn’t James Gunn who brought him back it was genuinely the rock so we have him to thank for that but other than that the future for dc is looking a lil bright🤷🏾‍♂️

In other lore, Black Adam was blown universes away and it took him thousands of years to get back to Earth. So he wasn't frozen in stasis which is why he would turn to dust if he reverted back to his regular form.

Henry Cavil said that his return as Superman had nothing to do with why he did not continue in The Witcher. He could have done both. It was because the writers and directors were not being true to the books and Henry Cavil is a true fan and wanted to be true to the books. That is why there actually is a petition to fire the writers and director and bring Cavil back. Though that petition won't change anything. But Henry Cavil just was not happy with the direction the writers and director were taking the Witcher even during season 2.
