Alright so I’m originally from Ludwig’s channel. After the collab I started binge watching your content and got so obsessed that I joined a climbing gym. I’ve been climbing about a month now and I’m loving it. Keep up the content dude.
I’ve only been to a climbing gym once I just started climbing like a few weeks ago and I’m at a v4 but I’ve been watching magnus for a long time and I am a very physically active person so the strength was no problem and I already knew some technique from watching. The only major problem I’ve had is the fact that I’m only 5 foot 6 and sometimes have issues with my reach
@David Miller yeah but you can’t ignore the context behind what you are saying. You’re telling him how he felt. That’s weird dude, he chose to do this and you’re saying he was “babysitting”.
@Rays Stuff Discussing their video on youtube posted on youtube for people to view and engage on? Yes, this is exactly what they need, that's the entire point.
I’m from Ludwig’s channel but seeing you stay calm while dealing with lud and his group haha. Fell into a giant hole of watching your content and I gotta says it’s got me wanting to get into climbing now! Would love to see more videos with the two of you!
@Roger Elzenga I'm inspired by your comment! May I ask, how often do you climb/ work out to maintain the strength and physique? I'm interested to start and of course I'll start off steady with plenty of rest. I'm just curious to know whst works for you?
I wish every place was like that, I tried climbing once (to help overcome my fear of heights) and I was told by my instructor that their child was able to climb the wall faster :/ However, hearing these stories and seeing all these videos definitely makes me want to go and try again! Thanks my dudes!
I recently watched the Olympics and world championships and people are helping their opponents to break down problems. It's unreal how wholesome they are.
my first experience as a beginner was an old man who didnt speak english spent what felt like 10mins showing me how to climb on the wall, place my feet, grip the holds ect. now of course you might find some odd hats here and there but generally when your doing something cool we all gather around like monkeys to watch and cheer you on
I think it is also due to the "puzzle" aspect of the climb. When I was like 3-4 months in, I got really into it so I stayed late when the more competitive guys (who travel to actual events) train. They were making up different paths, and got stumped on one. Me the eager little boy I was decided to take a look and did their hardest part first try because I did it in a way they somehow didn't think about (I fell almost immediately after as I had neither the technique nor strength to do it). They were super nice and gave me all kinds of advice to improve further, and I kept visiting their training for many months. Non-competitive physical activity just seems to bring out the best in people; perhaps because we all aspire to better ourselves and overcome obstacles.
When I saw v9 in the title I thought it was version 9 and you already taught Ludwig 8 times before this video to no avail though because he's a bit dumb. But then he kept on improving ever so slightly... so you had to train him a final 9th time for the good of the people. Then I remembered it's about climbing difficulty😅. PS: Man, minute 1 and am already laughing my ass off, keep on rocking buddy you're awesome.
Can I just say I kind of adore this. Like that's a lot of chaotic energy, but honestly the lack of judgement and the gentle guidance of it all is really refreshing. Like right now I'm still building up strength (I'm only really at V2's at my local gym) but this was really refreshing. It's awesome to Magnus climb a lot of those harder projects, but I actually really like seeing Magnus the coach as well.
@Siberius Wolf Oh I know and do the same, but the very fact we have to use a third party add-on for what once was a very basic functionality is ridiculous in itself.
@Oreo Chatz - I use a chrome extension called "Return TRvid Dislike". It's not going to be as accurate since less people click dislike now, but a lot of people still do.
@Oreo Chatz - I don't think I want Elon to also obliterate TRvid at record pace lol. Twitter can go! You have inspired me. You will be my Jesús as I follow your example.
@Siberius Wolf Then let's hope old Elon buys and destroys TRvid after Twitter, cuz I don't think I'm gonna stop otherwise lmao. While I also usually watch most if not all of a given video, I rarely comment, especially with such length.
Felt like they kinda overtook Magnus with all that energy. I'm glad to see an influx of new people finding Magnus but can't say I'm a fan of Ludwig. He has the energy of like a kid asking if you have games on your phone.
@Casualhayte but not all creators want to take the collabs. It was a bit of a mess of a video really for Magnus fans, but clearly a massive opportunity for the channel.
loved this collab so much.. I live in Oslo and am unreasonably excited (as a 45 year old non-climber (but keen!)) of the idea of you guys all being over here sometime! I really like both your (Magnus) and Ludwigs channels ... the editting and video team are also doing ace work.. thanks for sharing this!
Better title for algorithm: “I taught the biggest streamer how to climb a v9” ludwig was the most subbed twitch channel at one point during his Subathon. Also pulls in viewers who don’t know who ludwig is. Large streamers are a concept everyone is atleast familiar with rather than Ludwig personally
Waiting for this to come out just so I could say: you were so entertaining in lud’s video that I came to your channel and ended up binging about a dozen hours of your content some really great stuff!
seeing all the ludbuds here is so great, they will have a good time discovering magnus's videos. glad to see more climbing videos as always Magnus, keep it up! this was so fun to watch!
I'm not a good climber. Haven't climbed since early 2020 before my gym closed. I had been working on v4s and 5.11Ds. But seeing this collab lit a fire under me. time to get back into training!
Magnus has been creating some amazing and entertaining content recently. This collab will introduce a lot of new people into the world of climbing, which is awesome. Keep it up Magnus. 👍🏼 ❤
Lets goooo. I hope they keep learning and come visit your home gym. Was funny to see podcasters and streamers out in the world doing physical things. Atrioc actually had surprising good pull up form for a guy who works 2 jobs and neither one is physical
Some people do pull ups the full way and some half way, I think it's safe to say that Magnus did the right way, also known as the full way. Not shaming anyone. haha
I came here from Ludwigs channel just now and as I commented on his video with you, I understood you would be good at what you are doing but I couldnt imagine the skill you have. Love the videos and Im down the rabbit hole with climbing videos now lmao. 10/10 vid, loved this one!
Great vid Magnus. The one on ludwigs channel is great as well! Can't wait for more of these in the future. I'd also really love to see a vid with Hafthor bjornsson. Would be really neat to see "worlds strongest man v worlds strongest climber." or something like that!
Awesome video! Are we ever going to see a Magnus x Magnus (Carlsen) collab, featuring the greatest climber and the greatest chess player? Love the content
I just watched your collab video on Ludwig's channel about 2 hours ago and then went on a binging spree through your channel, and I must say, Amazing Content. The solo climbing video you did with Alex Honnold is by far the most exhilarating video I've ever come across on TRvid. You're an absolute beast Magnus, I hope you do more collabs with a wide array of youtubers so everyone can tune in on your channel.
Ive done the same now, watched about 20 Magnus videos in the last week. This is why collabs work I guess lol. I even want to go back and watch the Lud/Magnus videos again which I dont normally do
One of of best things about the climbing community is the Inclusivity and magnus defines that. His content pulls veterans and amateurs alike really awesome to see so many people of different background and experience together :)
What I'm rally curious about is, do you work out outside of climbing?? Like do you go to the gym, have routines, etc, or is all of your strength and technique gained through pure climing?
I love seeing lower level climbers in videos. I'd love to see Magnus climb with a group of varied skill. What does a 6a climber look like attempting 7a. Or like Magnus flashing a 7a climber's project was cool.
I always watched Magnus and his videos and thought that rock climbing was easy. Needless to say I came into a rock climbing gym for the first time and could barely get a v3. I’m hooked on rock climbing for good now.
Hi Magnus! I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge of and experience climbing with us. I came across your videos a couple of months ago and it got me interested in climbing. I just recently started climbing and I’m loving it!! I haven’t sent a climb yet but I’m still having so much fun just trying stuff out! So thank you again because I don’t think I would’ve ever considered it without see your videos! :)
@aki42 Nothing is crazy, i’m staying in the V1-V2 range. I actually did end up finally sending a climb not too long ago! I just don’t have a lot of strength and wasn’t using very good technique. Though I’m improving!
Really been waiting for this video for a little bit since Ludwig talked about it, I found you through him and have watched probably 20 videos or more of yours so far
Hi, Magnus!! Love your channel and all of the different types of content. I'm a hobbyist climber and really love when you go outdoor climbing at beautiful locations with a friend/guest on the channel. *Lowkey video request* I hope one day to see you climbing with Janja Garnbret or Margo Hayes in a video!
When I saw Ludwig's video I was so shocked. I've been watching your climbing content for a while now and never expected a day where 2 of my favourite TRvidrs colab! Great videos guys
I've been watching mr. Midtbø since before ronna and i really enjoy these videos. I find climbing super interesting and for the longest time i wanted to get into it but always found excuses to not just go to a gym and try. Always telling myself i'm not in shape enough, or that i don't like exercising or that the gym is far (that one is just straight up a lie) or that i don't have the money ... A friend of mine wanted to try for his birthday and I relucantly joined him and a few friends. Despite all my fears and excuses I still went and now i'm absolutely hooked. I'm super weak, not very flexible, a bit ankward with coordination but I just can't get enough. I climbed for the third time yesterday and although i'm in pain everywhere, missing skin from my hands and knees I just want to go again today. So maybe a message to other peoples in my situation that keep giving out excuses to not try it and maybe don't believe in themselves. Just go to a gym and give it a shot. I went to two different gym and the people are always super welcoming and will help you and give you advice if you ask. This sport is much more mental and technical than it is physical (at least where i'm at right now) it's insanely enjoyable. I'm enjoying myself so much. Massive thanks to mr. Midtbø for putting out such high quality videos that kept me interested in climbing untill I grew the courage to actually try it.
Nice work magnus, you need to whip those guys into shape! You’ve been putting out some of the most entertaining content on TRvid recently. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely loved this video, it was awesome to see Magnus collaborating with someone he normally wouldn't! I really liked that he tried to give them all some tools to improve on their own as well, I really hope Ludwig does indeed travel to Norway and they climb some more together. P.S. Stanz killed it, dude looked like a pro out there
I just found your channel yesterday. I dont even have an interest in climbing so idk why you got recommended to me. But damn I'm really loving your content. It's growing on me fast
This is a great collab, I hope this brings in a ton more people from ludwigs viewers. His collab with Juju is how I found magnus so I hope it does the same for others.
Been waiting for this video! Cant wait to see Ludwig and Magnus climbing together 😄 Edit: damn the video was hilarious, hoping for a hardcore climbing session next time so Ludwig can push some grades 💪
it’s so funny as an instructor watching this because magnus is so strong and great with his technique he has no clue what to tell the dudes to even get them to then next level because he’s about as many levels away as you can possibly be from them lol. but i’m no magnus so my dumbass can clearly see just simple things they could’ve done that day with no extra muscle and still do some cool stuff on the peg board and campus board. (weight displacement, how to move upwards properly, a correct k2e, just to name a few so i don’t get called out as not knowing shit lmao)
Whoa im having a fever dream, last week i was pondering the idea of magnus taking the OTK crew climbing. This isnt exactly the case but its damn close.
I watched them both, so glad seeing both styles differently, glad you guys spent a lot of effort and time to meet up! Atroic is the best, imo. Keep it up Magnus! Been there since Juji&Tom! c:
been watching both of you for a while, absolutely hilarious video and definitely surprised me when i saw it on bros vs pros on ludwig's channel, especially considering i randomly started getting back into rock climbing vids like 1 week before that xD
Watching your content has helped me find the motivation to get into shape and enjoy the small things again like climbing, thank you homie, keep up the good content
