Wimbledon would be much better if it was on another channel rather than the BBC their coverage makes mesic know and presenters and commentators are all embarrassing arse lickers apart from McEnroe.

Novak has proven himself as the master of coming back from being down match point at 40-15 against Roger Federer. This has now happened three times, which is beyond incredible.

The most efficient tennis player of all time - R. Federer. The most creative tennis player of all time - R. Nadal. The most stable tennis player of all time - N. Djokovic. P. Sampras was also highly efficient in some tournaments but overall Federer has achieved more productivity. The results of this games shows that what mostly determines the outcome of a match is the error rate of the players. From tennis abstact.com . --- " Which is more important, increasing winners or decreasing errors? Based on this evidence, the answer is decreasing errors, but only by a whisker-and only in women’s matches. The player with more winners claims 68% of contests, while the player with fewer errors wins 73% of matches. A more sophisticated look, in which I separated all matches into buckets based on winner rate and error rate, suggests an even narrower margin. The relationship between error rate and winning percentage was very slightly stronger (r^2 = 0.92) than the relationship between winner rate and winning percentage (r^2 = 0.90). " Federer is mostly an offensive player. Nadal is mostly an offensive player and defensive player.. Djokovic is mostly a defensive player. In the mens 2019 final Federer hit 94 winners while Djokovic only hit 54 winners. Federer had 40 more winners than Djokovic and controlled the games but still lost. This is because Federer had 61 unforced errors and Djokovic had 52 unforced errors in the game. Federer errors where enough to keep Djokovic still in the game. Who wins tennis is a matter of who makes sure thay have fewer errors. And that means playing defensively. The the truth is that probably most people like the game of offensive players more than the game of defensive players. Who is mentally tougher? - the offensive player or the fensive player? There will be different opinions on that. Because both act differently but using the rules of the game to win.

Djokovic mostly defensive?Oh brother, such an oversimplification.People always talk about all the balls he gets back in play.Look at what Fed returned today, how many net cords lines hit. When Novak had 2 pull the trigger he did exactly that.It is all about the balance in your game i guess.Anticipation is his main quality apart from movement in defense. He played the big points better, that's all there is 2 it.

Novak has the possibility to be GOAT.. He is only 32..myb has another few years n few Grand Slam to grab under his belt.. The Trio Roger Nadal n Nova are too good for the new young player..

@Kishore Babu But Tennis has changed a lot since the earlier part of the 20th century. Tennis also involves serve and volleying and Roger is not very very good at that like McEnroe and Boris Becker were so Roger is not a synonym for Tennis itself. Yeah he has grace and elegance combined with power when he plays but that still doesn't mean he is a synonym for Tennis. It would be difficult to find any great player and say which of them would be the synonym for Tennis... Margaret Court? John McEnroe? Rod Laver? Also Roger won his early Wimbledon slams in an easier era with Philippoussis, Nalbandian, Ferrero etc. and if Novak played against Federer in any of the Wimbledon Finals Federer played in then Federer would lose all of them and he would have no Wimbledon titles. Of course Roger is an all-time great, but the greatest? Novak is better and arguably Nadal is better too because Nadal has a huge H2H record advantage against Roger but Nadal can't be called the GOAT at the moment because he is only a clay court specialist and he struggles more on hard and grass. Novak, on the other hand, is adept and highly skilled on all the surfaces. At the moment, Novak can be called the GOAT but even he is not a synonym of Tennis because his serve and volleying is perhaps even worse than Roger's and his playstyle is based more on flexibility and returning and we don't know how well he would fare on the faster Wimbledon courts of the 80s. Novak seems to be a better grass court player than Roger though, Novak seems to be the real king of grass, not Roger. In the future there might be a player who is better than even Novak, Rafael and Roger and he could be the GOAT

So glad Novak won. Goran's influence with such a hostile and selfish crowd as his coach has paid off. Even in a local pub I was the only one cheering on Novak. Well done and not 'poor Roger' but excellent and legendary Djokovic.

I agree, don't get the hostility towards Novak, he is the ultimate never say die, warrior. Roger had it on his racquet & Novak asked the question, it has happened before Novak saving match points in the US open & winning. Epic, well done Novak.

Federer is not the greatest grass court player, Novak beats any version of Roger. Novak could lay claim to be the greatest grass court player but then again times were different in the 80s when serve and volley and faster courts were there.
