Max dragged Sergio to second place ahead of CL's Ferrari, it was up to him to hold his position in the race and not expect more assistance for ending up as championship runner up.
The way Alonso took care of SEB was simply legendary..He did everything so no one could crash into him or just ruin his race.. These guys made men cry today :(
I've been a Sebastian Vettel fan for quite a few years. He's my guy. Now that he is retiring I will still watch formula 1 but I won't be cheering for any one person in particular. The best of luck to you Sebastian.
@im a worm before i am man I think without a doubt Ferraris strategy is getting better, they just need to keep improving in that sector, and imo make a lower downforce car next year, obviously I’m no engineer but the lower downforce will mean less tire deg which will help people like Charles who aren’t amazing at tire management, although we saw he is still capable of it in Abu Dhabi. Also the lower downforce will help them keep up with RB on the straights. If they do those 2 things and Leclerc irons out those few odd mistakes they can certainly battle Max for the title next year, if not win it
@im a worm before i am man They didnt at the end of season, but at the beginning they were legit stomping through quali just to choke it all away come raceday
@OfficialZeuz lol wut? Ferrari clearly don't have the redbull speed. Leclerc only choked twice, that's the same as Verstappen dnfs early in the season. Ferrari let him down with some of ridiculous decisions. Although i admit Leclerc cracked under pressure
Same. All too often a retiring driver will crash or have a technical failure in the last race or just find themselves going around at the back. Glad he got points at the end.
After watching this live and then watching the highlights later, I'm shocked to see that there was no mention of how close Perez was to getting Leclerc with a few laps to go which would have put him second in the championship! That really was what everyone had their eyes on during the race...
Thank you Seb! What a legend! I always had your back. I knew that Max kid would go places. Since the beginning, it was clear he had the skills, but he needed to work on his temper and learn patience.
It's saddening that we couldn't have Lewis and Alonso send off Seb with donuts. I so badly wanted them to recreate that memory. 4 Time World Champion. Absolute legend of the sport. Thank you for everything Seb. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life. Danke Seb
@Mike Wurlitzer As a homeless person and a race driver watcher, I’ve always love donuts. Seeing a million dollar car get destroyed is one of my favourite things. A real man presses the gas and goes srrrrrrrr, boy. No /s.
Hamilton DNFing from mechanical failure seems like a blast from the past, like the 2011-2012 mclaren days Also I really REALLY feel for Alonso, guy can't catch a break the entire season, either phenomenal points outcome from low grid position or DNF through no fault of his own...
4:08 reminds me of the sort of collision I used to see 90’s pay drivers make. Neither belong at this level and before Schumacher fans tell me he won the F2title, Kerman Palmer won its equivalent.
The highlights were too disappointing. The most crucial segments were Perez pitting and catching upto to Leclerc Seems like too many new lazy editors out there hired by f1 if individuals with poorer footage and volume were able to pull out some of the best race edits and highlights in the early 2010s. They need to see gps like Hungary 2019 to see how chases across leaders should be shown while retaining best mid field action.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched Sebastian Vettel doing donuts alone on the track, without the presence of his former rivals Alonso and Lewis. It was a bittersweet moment, as I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia and sadness for the end of his F1 career. But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration and respect for all that he has achieved throughout his time in the sport. His fierce competitiveness and relentless drive have left a lasting impression on the world of F1 and he will forever be remembered as a true champion. Despite this being the end of his time on the track, I am excited to see what the future holds for him and the legacy he will leave behind.
Although Hamilton eventually took back the position in the beginning, Sainz should've received a penalty for forcing another car off the track which he does as much as max, but that doesnt mean its right because they do it a lot. Lewis was ahead, Carlos charged into the corner with late breaking and was still alongside Lewis when he actually straightened his line in the turn and led Lewis off the track. It was not Lewis' responsibility because he already owned the corner. The thing is, rules need to be followed because they can have a major impact later in the race, or in the moment. In this case, his dangerous maneuver likely damaged car from finishing.
@Billy Mays i guess you being dutch makes you blind when its against verstappen, max divebombed and left no room for Lewis while Sainz did leave Lewis space
Will definitely miss u Seb... u r a legend... on and off the track... this sport needs more competitors like u... ruthless on track and a living legend off it...
When you reached at the levl of sebestain vettel and lewis hamilton you don't need to win races to prove that you are and will always be a champion, History speaks for legends not wins.
History of all Haas seasons in Formula 1 2016: 29 points 2017: 47 points 2018: *93 points* 2019: 28 points 2020: 3 points 2021: 0!!! 2022: 37 points The team's third best campaign since its debut 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 May the performance be even better next year!!!
I think it's better for RB to give Perez first place in the early race, because most of the racing leaders have the advantage of getting some distance from the cars behind and also the racing leaders don't have any distractions from other cars, so you can concentrate fully on racing as fast as you can.
@we are one race one origin one blood which he did the entire race.. Two stop found ineffective, lewis also took his revenge in the process adding to the challenge.. What did you watch exactly?
I lost a lot of respect for Max for now helping Checo getting the second spot. For not helping red Bull getting there first ever 1-2. Obviously not a team player. The words out of Max’s month in 2021 haunt me “Checo is a legend, tell him thank you”. Obviously can’t repay the favour.
It’s not a goodbye, it’s more of a see you later. Thanks Seb. We will remember you for centuries to come. And for the Aussie, hope to see you anywhere in the paddock.
Danke Seb! You truly are one of the greatest f1 drivers of all time, you practice what you preach, you are humble. I wish you luck and hope to see you commentate a race or two!
It was a bit of an irony that the season when Formula One cars were completely re-designed in order to race closer to one another, and to boost competition/excitement, turned out to be the season one driver dominated more than in any other season in history. Ironic indeed when we consider the previous season, without any of the "venturi tunnel" artifices was the closest season ever, when the title was decided (ok, ok, dry up Hamilton fans) on the very last lap of the last race. I will pray the engineering goddess allows for Mercedes, McLaren, and Ferrari to produce outstanding cars, so their six amazing drivers can put up a genuine fight to Red Bull, and grace us, F1 fans, with a truly exciting season, there is, because 2022 was anything but that. I mean, unless you were a soldier on the Orange Army.
Seb, we want you to know that you are a true legend to the sport and like other legends of the past in F1, your legacy will never fade. We will truly miss you former champ. Danke Seb
From a fresh faced 'Baby Schumacher' who stunned the paddock at Monza in 2008, to a four time world champion. All the while, a fantastic driver and an even greater person. Danke Seb.
Danke Seb I’ve enjoyed watching you in F1 from 2013-2022. You’re the one that got me into F1 from the beginning. You’ve had an amazing career. Farewell Legend we will miss you
1:01 lewis' tactic is to choose a line where if overtaken it will sound as if the overtaker made the mistake of being pushed out, he positions himself in the middle of the track, so it's obvious it's not going to be a clean pass
Oh the irony , the year started with merc podium and lewis taking a shot at redbull and saying "Reliability is important guys" and ending with Redbull winning the WDC and WCC with the biggest margin and hamilton having a mechanical issue at the end
If Max had retained Leclerc as Checo did Hamilton last year for Max to win the championship, today Checo would have finished second in the championship.
