This already existed before ambience mode, it was a product produced by Philips on their tvs called “AmbiLight”. It’s really exciting to see this available as a kit though!!

This is how Ambilight wannebe's look like. It will never perform as good as the real thing. There may be better televisions than Philips, but damn, once you had one with ambilight.. i dont want anything else. My first one, was the beginning of double ambilight, the other one 3, and now have the 4 side ambilight. Ambilight Movie and game mode are absolute a bonus of feeling that extra👍

@fancyleds You shouldn't be able to cut the lights on ones that use a wired connection. Unless you somehow sync it perfectly, this would have to be a different led setup than the one you showed in the first few seconds.

The problem is that it's an HDMI 2.0 setup. 2 problems for gamers: 1. It's just 2.0 so no 4k 120hz support, 2nd it's an extra HDMI adapter so it got some latency anyways. There's an alternative on Amazon with an camera getting the picture, so no HDMI disruption. For 70€

@Filip Wassén i've had 49 led ips with ambilight but i've changed it for 65 LG oled and it's great for gaming :) 120hz, g-sync, hdr :) colours are far better than my alienaware monitor.
