Imo! Dont EVER Compromise the music for the video... In this case put a filter on master of the whole track at 32 seconds in??????... It fukks up the art
I'm honestly very glad that Yachty took this direction with his music. I heard somewhere that he did this so people will take him seriously as an artist, and I definitely hope that'll happen. Sure, he isn't the only reason that this album sounds as amazing as it does, but he was the curator of it, aka the main driving force of this project. He and his sound definitely grew and evolved over time. Both him and the team behind this project deserve praise, and a lot of it. I hope he'll keep putting out great projects like this while improving.
@Jawarholol You would be making a fair point if not for the fact that this isn't "mumble rap" at all. "Mumble rappers" would be artists like Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Yeat, etc. With Yachty, you can clearly understand his vocals on this album. Hell, he's not even rapping on this project. I think it's a good thing that Yachty is trying out something new, and I personally think it works very well. If you don't, that is perfectly okay.
@The Movie Historian Rap has many different styles and subgenres. What you listened to and the more autotuned style are just two different subgenres, and both of them are as valid as the other. Now, you may take someone like Three Stacks or Prodigy over, let's say, Travis Scott or Yachty, but everyone I mentioned in here is still talented and a valid artist, despite one being more talented than the other.
I grew up listening to real rap and R&B. This guy uses way too much autotune that he sounds like a damn robot, and how can you take a guy seriously who wears a table cloth for a jacket? 😂😂😂😂
Never been a fan before, hes not usually produced my kind of music but this is absolutely incredible. Probably my favourite album of the year so far, and some great ones have been released. I honestly severely respect his desire to be "taken seriously" and I love how with enough passion and dedication he was able to move into a genre which is completely new to him and still produce something that both lives up to the better music in the genre and even has its own unique sound
this music video crazy 🔥🔥yachty different asf with it thats why he still on top after all these years... He one of my biggest inspirations in the game.. I pray to be on top like him one day, I'm gonna keep fighting til I get there... Dropped something on my channel to motivate everyone out here to chase their dreams and never give up... To anyone that checks me out, shows love and joins me on my journey I will forever be thankful foreal 🔥🔥🔥
If you been listening since 2016, then you know it’s amazing to see Yachty at this position in his career. He’s showcasing what all his classics lead up to. Showing us he can be an artist in a different perspective 📶🚢
bruh wtf so disappointing. is this the same guy that made iSpy? Oh shit my bad I just looked it up, he was just featured, butttttt uhh that song was about 1000x better than whatever this is...
i'll admit when yachty was coming up i wasn't backing him, but this is fucking real art right here, this whole production moved me immensely, big respect to yachty and the crew on this, keep writing like this in your style, your way, don't ever compromise on your vision, your true emotions.
awesome album, Yachty go in soo hard on this right here, straight up BANGA! He aint like all them goofies and oppas who just be using that *HIPVIEWS dawwwt cawwwm* to get mad exposure on they socials, SMH seem like anyone can go HAM these days... SMH
AHHH I LOVE THE VULNERABILITY. can we talk about how he as one of the top rap artists of our day (popularity wise) is exposing his audience to more than just “bitches and hoes”. 1) as an african woman I love the rep. It’s usually only in Afrobeat videos that I will see dark skin and black women in general portrayed in a way that is “the love of my life”/“Apple of my eye” kind of way. As opposed to a lot of hip hop artists in America choosing a more sexualize route, mainly only choosing lighter skin women to play “love of my life” type of roles in their videos. So I am glad to see such a big artist do that😆😆 Like yesss we r more than just “angry”, “aggressive”, “big booty” black women and 2) I love that he is being vulnerable without putting the other party down. Don’t get me wrong lmao sometimes a good “bitches/niggas ain’t shit” feels good but it’s gotten to the point where even if a hip hop artist does decide to be somewhat vulnerable he’s always going to refer to the “bitches/hoes” narrative on that same track( idk whether they do it to still seem “hard” or manly or if that’s just how they see most women but yea) . I like that Yachty is being vulnerable even when the other person did something that would hurt anybody and make anybody sad/mad, he still chose the high road. That’s real security right there mad respect to him as an artist
@KING KAKA How do you not pay attention to rap? 💀 sound goofy asf it’s literally 50% of all music I listen to and one of the most popular music genres like…should I be studying the theory of rap in university rn or…💀sry professor. I know others have done similar song themes, I can just appreciate that yachty, with all his influence and etc chose to go in this direction and hopefully open the door for others who want to do the same without being seen as less of a man or being clowned by their community. Same way I can appreciate Carti’s evolution and further merging of two genres and people that otherwise wouldn’t have associated with each other (ik others like Kanye and cudi, xxx, ski mask etc have done similar I just choose to call Carti out here as a more modern, successful genre merger)
I did not know what to expect from this project and I’m so happily surprised that it was so experimental yet so in tune and enjoyable. This will be one of my most played songs of 23’ no doubt.
Lil yatchy stands out from other artists because he is so creative. This has a feel i cant put my finger on but it glistens and sparkles with a sprinkle of nostalgia.
I'm so happy that i hyped myself up for this album because it delivered amazingly. I'm so excited for whatever the future holds for him if he keeps this up. my favorite album so far rn.
I love love love love the direction he is heading into with this change!!! I always loved his voice and flow and some few songs but was not an avid listener. This album gonna put him favs
This man ain’t just a rapper this man is truly a artist. The flow is impeccable the versatility is untouchable most underrated artist. Thank You Miles Parks McCollum.
Thanks to the yachtster for this song. The musicality in this song plays my hearts strings. I’m impressed. It sounds like an 80s song, the producer is a beast
This is the best album ever, it was a full produciton that felt like every song was part of a movie or story. Instant classic and an amazing way to start 2023. THANK YOU SO MUCH YACHTY
bruh wtf so disappointing. is this the same guy that made iSpy? Oh shit my bad I just looked it up, he was just featured, butttttt uhh that song was about 1000x better than whatever this is...
I knew I liked something about yatchy and them psychedelics really helped him transform his music into something I can listen to daily 10/10 album your best work yet.
Yes this gives me such heavy summer songs vibes and such heavy heavy Lil Boat 1 vibes One Night type shit I love it Yachty has fully met himself up as an artist I don’t care who doesn’t like it this is truly an artistic masterpiece
Just show how versatile he is with not only his creative drive but his work ethic and his emotional drive to be able to express himself in many different types of ways.
this album is a 10/10 fucking masterpiece. it was definitely unexpected hearing this psychedelic sound by lil yachty, i love seeing him experiment with this sound and finding himself
@SNOWHITEY literally how? Just based on the production it deserves a 6! Lil yachy had some damn good vocals on here too! And the features fit perfectly, a strong 8 in my opinion.
Yatchy changing his sound is one of the highlights of this year so far no one expected no one asked for it but no one that loves music can deny it sound fucking good.
both yatchy and the director killed it Yachty go in soo hard on this right here, straight up BANGA! He aint like all them goofies and oppas who just be using that *HIPVIEWS dawwwt cawwwm* to get mad exposure on they socials, SMH seem like anyone can go HAM these days... SMH
I bet it feels so refreshing to know after u develop a following an artist cab relax and not make what's just current and hot everytime.. this is branching out and having fun with your art 🎨 . Happy for Lil Boat 🚢 😌
this video shows actual emotions. exactly how I felt when me and my ex split & I tried to make up for my wrongs & nothing worked. you accept it for what it is & move on. it Truly is all in your head this is art a masterpiece fs.
There’s been album in my lifetime that have helped me GROW, helped me LEARN, helped me feel ALIVE, and made my vision more CLEAR. Thank you Lil Boat 🛶 LOVE
I knew Yachty had this type of quality music in him. This album hits different when you’ve been rooting for him since 2016. He’s had a few lackluster projects but there’s always been some insane talent in Yachty, he was so young when he got popular and seeing an artist reach their potential is so incredible. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do in the future
nah fr. worst part is people say the vocals are trash or don’t fit. yachtys autotune and wavey vocals on the tracks are what make it stand out and difffrent. makes it really good in my opinion, why yachtys been my fav artist for this long.
i had a feeling his kind of vocals didn't really rub that well with trap, right until he made Poland which sounded like being trapped in a prison of menthol. This new album was basically that part of Poland.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but in a LOT of his speaking voices, he's bringing me MAJOR Andre 3000 vibes. He's truly become an artist, a visionary, a great actor too. As someone who loves both hiphop and progressive rock/psych, this is absolutely out of this world. Instant hit!
This is exactly the Yachty I got a sniff of from Teenage Emotions that I always hoped he'd blossom into. Thank god he found his way back onto the path of creative exploration rather than just sticking with the rinse, wash, and repeat mold he stuck to last few years. Love this album.
I love how the videos for the album just really encapsulate how the album sounds into visuals. like it's just one massive fucking fever dream, both equally dream and fever
He put thought and care into Teenage Emotions, it was ahead of it’s time. He put thought and care into Michigan Boy Boat, he WENT to Michigan to go be with everyone featured on that album. Saying he never put this much thought and care is crazy lol.
Yachty has given us hints that this is his true sound in the past. Glad he's comfortably ascending into the artist he wants to be. To Yachty. Do what the f*ck you want King Boat. Fan since 2016, I'm proud of your growth. Truly commendable. Can not wait to spin this on vinyl.
Raised the bar ridiculously high. You've earned my respect with this album. Let's start here is a masterpiece and we'll just have to wait and see how others deliver because this is a early AOTY contender.
Yachty took a turn with his music in a good way of course he went from being the happy rapper to pure artist mode making sad songs for a good cause I love it and I’m all for it 🥲❤️🔥
Yachty outdid himself on the album and those visuals are just phenomenal. I hope he continues to deliver us those amazing projects, heads of to you mr. boat!!!
