Kevin Durant's blatantly out of bounds "save" was super infuriating, but as a Texan it felt real good to see James Harden respond with a game winning 3 over Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
Yea I’m a warriors fan and I’m just being honest it did feel kinda good in the insides to see harden hit the three cuz I mean kd was def out of bounds so yea we got justice
Definitely. Especially since his foot started in-bounds and kinda rotated and slid to *just barely* out of bounds. I'd hardly call it egregious. Also worth noting that out of the 50 or so people standing in the front two rows of that side of the court, *only* 5 saw it. 10% isn't exactly a consensus. Meanwhile, anyone with eyes can see that KD was clearly out of bounds for a solid half hour before "saving" that ball.
No lmfao 6:15 Not a bad outcome at all. Are you blind? #1 was fouled on this play, he was held by the arm by the hornets player, preventing him from guarding the shooter.
@Ultimate Douchebag i dunno man. i didnt like that call either but they gave the eagles that sideline catch that was VERY questionable. they also overturned the fumble for the eagles which i think was the right call but still those are close calls that went the eagles way.
this is incredible, the NBA really should reform and fine refree just as much as they enforce fining the players. this video really show you how much of a joke and how much of a power trip the ref have and how incompetent they are. Great video!
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for making this type of content. I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time and your quality just gets better and better, the way you always accidentally prove Michael Jordan is the GOAT in every video is always a perfect ending. I just wanted to say thanks for the entertainment provided for me and everyone else watching.
@KouAni btw you’re missing a question mark and an apostrophe. Normally I wouldn’t be that person. However, since you’re a much wiser adult than me, you should write with correct grammar. Have a good day.
@KouAni actually, I am an adult and I know to not jump around and scream when I’m angry at something. Being young does not mean I lack wisdom, logic or that I’m not intelligent. Nice job trying to attack me though.
I'm so glad you brought up the time the REF fouled a player and then blamed it on his defender. Even in some of the egregious no-calls there's at least some plausible deniability that the ref wasn't looking at Giannis' feet or whatever. But it's impossible to collide with a big NBA player and not feel the contact. Crawford 100% knew he was to blame, but penalized the Pistons anyways.
9:43 I was rolling on the floor when he said “No, it’s a foul on Chauncey Billups!”. I didn’t even know he was guarding him, I thought it was so random😂😂😂 Like why’d you have to do Chauncey like that😂😂😂 Edit: Holy crap how’d I get 30 likes in 1 day!?!
I love that this list is actually terrible officiating, not debating calls on physical plays that were or weren't crossing the line. Just the plain awful ones
i had some experience like this, my opponent literally out of bound the ball while i defending him and the ref is just laughing at me as he decided to give the ball to our opponent even though it was clearly my opponent touches the ball last lol
Hey, this happens every game at least a dozen times. There's a worse missed call 10 times every game. None of yall care until it's Lebron crying on the flor though huh?
Can you do a video about the correlation between where a player is drafted and their overall success as a player? It’s interesting to think about just how many number 1 picks were busts and so many great players were drafted outside of the top 10 in their draft.
I think one of the things what the league need to is to increase the gap between the court and bench so ref doesn't need to run too closely to the player whenever fast break happen
I can't believe you didn't mention Dame getting his layup obviously goaltended against Utah during a playoff run in 2020. It even sparked his "plenty money" comment.
KD saving the ball out of bounds is the craziest no call that I’ve ever seen live. The referee was looking RIGHT AT HIM WHILE HE WAS ON THE BASELINE TOO.
Bad officiating is so frustrating but it's part of the game. Great video as always. Those were some great examples of calls that just make you scratch your head.
@EverythingLakers17 You got that right! I sit in bed and wonder will they ever make it to 500 this season? Do you still have your free bubble gum from 2020! I ate mine! It was nasty af...
@Error Right next to where you can't show up a ref. Right by you have to dribble out the clock instead of trying to score when you're up at the end of the game. across from paragraph C...that's why the gave him a tech....where's your book?
@Adrian Daliva Wtf what that about??? Laughing on the bench can give you a tech... how can the ref even hear that in game with thousands of people.. like how useless can you actually be?
@Keith Boswell LeBron cannot win win haters. If he acted indifferent, then he doesn't care and has no love for the game. A statpadder that only care about money.
This is a great video. It's packed w reasons we need either challenge flags or sensors on the line. Here is my solution for missed out of bounds calls. Lasers can be run along the sideline if a Player or anything crosses that line the red light comes on.
Beautiful video as always Jxmy!!! I do want to make this point as a first year junior high/high school official, it’s whole another different game when you officiate! If you criticize, also be the first one to compliment as well because, unless you’ve officiated before, then you don’t realize what it takes in the .1 second you need to make a call/throw a flag! These are missed calls and huge ones for sure, ESPECIALLY for professionals. But officiating slander, especially from those that don’t realize what it’s like to be an official, is the reason why there’s an official shortage in America that leads to younger generations not being able to play.
Gotta give credit to Chauncey for his patience and not yelling or swearing at that ref. I’m a pistons fan and that got my blood boiling and I’m just here watching on my phone lol
This season, warriors shoot the least fts while teams shoot the most against them. It is been so frustrating watching every team be allowed to play more aggressive on defense this year
Could u do a video on if Lebrons all time scoring record is gonna be unbreakable? Also if Lebron could possibly reach the 50k mark? He will most likely break the 40k mark next season. He won’t retire until he plays with bronny so that’s another season to add. By then he might be close 42,000. If he decides to play with his youngest son Bryce that would be another couple seasons. Maybe he retires at 45k?
Now talk about the walk they let Lebron off with before the layup. Or the 6 missed calls in the last 2 minutes and overtime in that hand and how 5 went the Lakers way 🤔
Dude wtf are you talking about lol. There's a difference between contact and an absolute hack. Dude literally smashed LeBrons arm while he was going up for the shot. There's no Era of basketball where this isn't an obvious foul
It's literally a slap on the wrist. I know with this soft generation they expect that to be called. In my opinion you go to the hole like that you should expect some sort of contact and still be able to finish. Don't go into the hole without expecting contact and to be saved by the ref for your softness not being able to finish with a little contact. Baby generation
I remember watching that hornets game live. They robbed baron davis. The very next season is when they made it a requirement to review all buzzer beaters
This new video by jxmy is boutta go crazy considering how many trades just happened in the past couple days and new teams have chances in playoff success
@Jay Bee So he admits to this stuff under oath and you still don't believe it! 🤦🏿♂️ And for the record he doesn't just name the Lakers series he names other games/series as well.
James was also traveling before a foul ever took place, so technically-according to actual basketball rules and not the NBA fast and loose because “dunks put butts in seats” rules-the call really should’ve been on that.
Ref's face at 3:42, you can see him thinking about the decision on whether or not he should have called it. I'm guessing there had to be a backdoor reason for a no call.
@Renaldy Calixte thats fair. it was mere speculation on my behalf that what i said couldve been the case. noone been joey crawford truly knows what was going on in his head but himself
not taking the refs side by any means, and its hard to tell because of the quality, but it looks like billups was being a little handsy and maybe crawford was going to call a foul but ran into jones, and then still just made the call. not saying it merited a foul being called, but i dont think he had the chance to call it before knocking jones out of bounds, and it was just an unfortunate chain events that made it appear differently. i could be wrong, given crawfords reputation lmao but id like to think that was the case
My biggest issue with the bad officiating is when fanbases cling and hold onto this idea that their team is the ONLY team that is being screwed over. Guys literally all 30 teams at some point get screwed over.
@Ma1q Anthony Edwards it top 5 in total drives and averages very little free throw attempts too. I have also watched 8 years of KAT getting the worst whistle in the league. sorry dude, your in the wrong here. it happens to every team
Bro, I watch a lot of pro basketball AND football… and the missed calls that I’ve seen just this season alone are HORRENDOUS! These refs are dumb as hell. Like truly you can’t tell me the game isn’t rigged at this point.
This NBA season has had some pretty weird calls in it. The rules still need to be adjusted too but the calls themselves are probably more important since your decision could be incredibly important.
@Zach Martell That's why it needs to change. Add more refs use cameras have people watch plays as it happens and give out the calls. NBA has a lot of money so why settle for "it's hard and we lack refs". If something clearly isn't working properly you need to change it for the betterment of the viewing experience but unfortunately they seem to not care.
I used to be a referee for intramural college league and I have to say it was probably the worst job of my life. The game moves so fast and there is so much to see and a foul can be so slight (a single finger hitting an elbow, one foot not in the right place turns a charge into a blocking foul, etc) that its really hard to notice. It also doesn't help that literally every single time a player shoots the ball they're yelling in your face that it was a foul, or flopping, or sticking their leg out to have someone run into it. These are NBA refs so obviously they should be held to a higher standard (and there might be some fixing going on) but it's a hard job and it sucks. No matter what call you make the other team hates you and these guys will getin your face about it.
That baron davis shot… imagine how many calls to control the outcomes couldve been made before instant replays and challenges lol. The illusion of a legitimate sporting contest is a delicate balance to get right without ppl catching on to the WWE nature of it.
After watching , the Netflix untold stories' series , and hearing about the REF Tim Donaghy AND the FBI investigation about gambling the mob and how the NBA commissioner just basically shut the investigation down , the entire game came into question with me . The way the calls are made in pivotal games comes down to the fact of weather the REFS likes the player or who/team the commissioner wants to win.
@Are Two Dee Too there is no corruption. The nba is a business, players and refs are employees in a performance centred around basketball. Sometimes they fuck up and fall over, that is obviously a random occurrence. Losing teams getting every call to close gaps in games is not random. Happens nearly every game. Matches are manipulated in many ways via bullshit calls, most noticeable when prolonging finals series. Nba uses all the stats to predict how calls will affect games; early foul calls on a player who averages 30ppg lower their minutes and the teams effectiveness by x amount.
@mona lisa Oh, I'm not arguing against that. The long term argument is at least circumstantial evidence for corruption at the highest level. But the arguments above that this specific play was done on purpose to extend the game are almost as ridiculous as the play itself... This one was not on purpose, even a ref as incompetent/corrupt as this one would have done it at least slightly more subtly had it been on purpose. Either that or he's a 4D grand master and one of the best physical comedy actors I've ever seen. Your choice.
@Are Two Dee Too How does a ref, with Joey's record including such idiotic calls, keep a career for 40 years? You think nba does not notice all these dumb ass calls? Or you think they know but they also know an extra game here and there means more cash and Joey makes an easy scapegoat.
There was definitely corruption and fixing but I really wouldn't recommend that documentary as the "sources" are the criminals themselves who have a lot to gain from blaming others/underselling their role. Gaming The Game is a better sourced, investigative book that goes through everything, and the author has publicly questioned heaps of Donaghy's claims in the doco.
