@Brittany No Honestly though I don't care a ton about how other people play. What I really don't care for is how pretty much none of the MC youtubers will play it without nerfing it in some way.

@Brittany No I just think it really destroys a lot of what makes the mod what it is. If you take away Mr. E and nerf adaptation at all they are no longer very difficult or scary to deal with. Even putting adaptation at 99% is a night and day difference.

He actually did have a shield, it can be periodically seen in his chests, but he neglected to use it given that the entire modpack basically makes shields obsolete.

Eh, shields are mostly useless against the advanced parasites, and either way he was using a Halberd. That weapon makes it so he does less damage if he has something in his offhand

@SAVAGE GAMING i go into the nether with fire resistant suspicious stews which don't work nearly as well as the potions, but might save your life if you're fast enough. since going in first means no access to potions. i also note my coords right away once entering and type it up in the chat feature so i can access it quickly. I try to get enchanted gear before i go in as well. i have a hack i use to find strongholds and nether fortresses that doesn't involve cheating in my current save. i copy the seed, then enter that world and fly around in creative mode. once i find them, i mark the coords, then go into the nether in my current save and dig into the ceiling til i arrive to my destination. it's slower and more tedius, but far safer as long as you can avoid pockets of lava. i also go to strongholds early on for raiding purposes. it's much faster to steal the books from the library than to raise cows and sugarcane

@Vaughn Eudy yea, I see what your saying there. unfortunately(unless you somehow encounter a stronghold with a already active portal), you gotta deal with the nether. what I do is I don't go into the nether unless I'm full diamond gear with enchantments(obviously) and some golden apples(non enchanted. the enchanted ones are super rare cause they can't be crafted). my issue with the nether is trying to find the fortress, and if it sticks me in a soul sand area(lots of skeletons, can barley move and if that seems easy to you...ghasts, don't forget the damn ghasts). And if you know what your doing(im not good at brewing so I don't)...make some fire resistance potions. they will help, trust me.

@SAVAGE GAMING sure, when you're in the overworld where danger can be avoided, but i always die in the nether after i first enter it. sometimes it's because I'm not as careful as i could be, but the nether is still the reason why i can never make it as a hardcore player
