I do. I watched how they made frozen 2. If they couldn’t find out what happens when Elsa goes to the 6th spirit, they would’ve canceled frozen 2. I’m so glad that someone had an idea of Elsa singing and finding out she was the 6th spirit (I forgot if it was the 5th or the 6th)
that’s actually the idea, they want you to feel fully immersed and it takes a while to get to the point where audiences aren’t looking at the fine details.
the fact that people still point out those super tiny mistakes when they don't even know the effort people put for animated movies or just any movie in general
But the sad part is, they take years to make this, work so hard on the details but, most of details goes unseen. Most of these animators are not at all recognized and appreciated!! So sad!!
A friend of mine works with visual effects at ILM and is hands-on in many big budget movies. Those people have their own award shows and a whole culture around what they do - they get their well deserved recognition from their peers/fellow artists in the industry. But it's important to note that all these big or small things that they do for these movies all add up to something really great for the viewer. If the target audience enjoy the movie without being distracted by or questioning the vfx, it's a very good sign and is mostly what they care about.
I really didn't think I would care about the details but wow. As an artist myself, seeing it all really had me squealing! The dresses and the the way the fabric folds left me in awe every time and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. So much contrast compared to the first film where everything was full of snow and white. The scene where the soldiers were fighting the Northaldra and the sunlight was shining on them was so stunning I gasped. Ugh, I wish I could acutely express my adoration was the detail but I just don't have the words.
So are you telling me they made Quicksilver, Beast, Swoop, and Splash software programs, consulted a vocal coach, went skydiving, traveled to Norway, Iceland, and Finland, AND stood on a glacier JUST FOR THIS SEQUEL?! hmm sounds pretty easy...
@Bryan William That's not true, a single frame can render anywhere from 2-48 hours. Any longer and a rendering technical director steps in to figue out what's going wrong, and tries to optimise the work.
I am speechless... I can't believe how talented and deeply involved the animators and visual artists truly are in their work. Kudos to them! Amazing job. Great information learned about their hard work, and I sincerely give my appreciation to them.
*Just imagine, it's not only the animations you have to perfect, but it's also the music production, voice acting, scripts, catchy stories, detail, sound effects, creative plots, and realistic touch.*
It’s really cool to see the actual thought process in these films. It’s one thing knowing that animation like this is really detailed and difficult, but a whole different one to actually see and understand it. Like damn, these guys spent a LOT of time and came up with so many creative solutions.
As a graphic designer who literally went out to see it just because of young cousins i was actually astonished by the quality of artwork and detailing they put into the movie. Still not a huge Frozen fan but i really appreciate hardwork and dedication it took to make it.
im so looking forward to watching this! I remember being shocked at the detail on Lumier's body when I watched Beauty and the beast, literally cant wait to see this on the big screen and be mind blown again.
That last part about making the water too realistic hits home. I draw maps for tabletop roleplaying games (DnD mostly), and have also come to the conclusion that making the coastline in particular 'too realistic' will lead to the map looking off somehow. We're used to the fantastical shapes that we see in regular fantasy, so a realistic shape to your island, continent, etc will look strange.
The quality of the animation is one of the reasons why I love this movie so much I'm also looking forward for more movies like this in the future The big sea waves part and the details in their clothes is just so incredible and amazing They looked too realistic and I even thought they used REAL waves to do it when I looked at it for the first time
What I absolutely adore about the second film, is the color palate. From the backgrounds, to the clothes and to the elemental spirits, everything looks anestheticly pleasing and easy to look at, where in the first film they included colors like elsas crazy cyan dress and annas strongly magenta cape in one frame which made it very difficult to watch
honestly it never felt like I've waited 6 years, whenever I watch or listen to frozen songs I feel like the movie released probably a week or a month ago
I never thought that making an animated movie requires so much effort!!😮 I totally understand why it took 6 years to create Frozen 2. Frozen 2 is the best animated movie I have ever seen.❤️☺️👏
The animation is amazing, no doubt. I wonder how the animators feel about how the movie turned out though, with the story and character development... those six years were used very well for the animation but other story aspects.. it makes me feel sad for everyone who worked so hard on the movie that disney had to rush at the end...
Wow. I think the animators had the best work not just that they are doing their jobs but they are passionate about it. Plus having cool perks like travelling and even sky diving just to get an inspiration?! That's awesome.
Incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. The animators are incredible!! Still doesn't change the fact that it was a messy, forgettable movie. :(
As an “animator” myself I can’t imagine how long it took for them to just do one frame. I call my salt “animator” because I’m still learning how to animate
What a masterpiece....but i am so proud of myself that i keep on noticing the details of things I come through😌...bt also i feel so bad that these works r not noticeably judged and remarked. People r always busy in finding logics and further story...even in a cartoon...🙄😕...
i always see things about how people “grew up” with the characters in a movie or show, and i could never relate until frozen. i was in 1st grade when frozen came out, and then 7th when frozen 2 came out. the movie really did grow up with its audience. tbh i wouldn’t mind a frozen 3 in a couple more years
In a lot of these types of videos the animators get credit. But the texture artists and modelers also play a huge roll. Usually animators do just that and modelers do just that. Like a character la reflection in a material is thanks to the texture artists, lighting department and the animators not just the animators alone
Toy Story be like : Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Also for the person who told the faces are cartoonish, that's the art. 6 year is a lot for normal life. But this movie only took 4 years! People don't even appreciate it much..
It's insane how much time and effort they put in to the scenes that will be seen (most likely unnoticed) in split seconds. Well, I believe they are paid handsomely for their awesome work.
I also dig that Elsa’s dress is much more fitting to her character, it looks so much easier to move in and is still elegant Edit: WAIT WHY DOES THIS HAVE SO MANY LIKES???
Even if an animation movie i mean the story suck can we all stand still of the fact that they are all a work of art! I have seriously a lot of respect for all the people working on the movies. Doesn’t matter which movie. PS: i’m not saying Frozen II suck i haven’t seen the movie yet but i’m sure it will be great!!!
It feels so nice for someone to recognize how hard these people are truly working. I mean, you can see the freaking seams on the clothing, down to the seams, people! Down to the seams! What next!? Down to the atom!?
our mom let us skip school on the day the movie came out, and we went to burger king and then she surprised us with FROZEN!! in the imagine movie theater...... That was one of the best days ever!!
I just watched frozen II 2 days ago for the first time (ik im really late) and first thing that comes to my mind is how great the details of animation in this film like wow you literally can see the difference between frozen I and frozen II, it's more alive like a real thing from our world, im really impressed. Im waiting for frozen III in 2023, if they going to improve in that film istg it will be the best animated film in history, i mean like cmon frozen II is already amazing i dont even know that ppl can make a cartoon that moves like a really smooth like a real thing.
thank you for the 3D Artist that made this movie impossible! ya guys really did a good job ngl and i love the movie especially the effects and the lighting!! ya nailed itttt
@Nylo Arts I was talking to someone who thought they were two years older than they were in Frozen. So I said *if* they were two years older in Frozen 2, then it would have been 4 years after their parents died. I wasn't saying they *were* two years older.
@lucyeth Frozen took place 3 years after their parents died, what are y'all on about. Frozen 2 happens 3 years after the first Frozen, pretty sure they said that in the movie too.
This type of technology of animation will revolutionized the face of the Disney animation, making this movie the best Disney sequel ever made and a movie that I never seen before, the art, the movement of the animation, the lighting and theme and the set, and the colors too, so if we see Disney movies more like this and keep evolving, it’ll make you feel it’s real and make you feel that your part of the story, no animation movies cover never beat this movies ever.
Ok so what I've learned from this: If you wanna travel the world, become an animator. They've been to iceland, norway, finland, went skydiving, horseback riding, camping, got vocal coaching, and i probably forgot a few other trips. Holy shit what a dream job!
Okay but is it just me who loves the Frozen I storyline more? Frozen II seem.. rush or idkkk But seriously they out done themselves and it looks amazing 😍 I love the songs too
Wow I never thought that they were doing there best to so let's just appreciate how they work hard to make Elsa 2 I wish Elsa won't end cuz frozen is my favorite
Im just waiting for the day that animated TV shows and animes are as detailed, ultra realistic and smooth as high end disney movies. That's something worth waiting for
This movie itself cost millions of dollars to make, with mutiple animators and 6 years to create, and that's just the animation. Sorry to say it might take a lot longer than you think.
Oh my god! You guys! It's just a movie! I'm sure we all would've loved the movie even if you didn't study horse anatomy, or travel in sooooo many countries or go skydiving! So much work for an ANIMATED movie!
"You can really see every little thread in anna's dress". It's called a texture map sir and it's not new technology. The reason why it's more detailed is because of artistic decisions and more powerful hardware compared to 2013.
honestly, the water in that scene did look too real compared to the rest of the movie. What I do like is how the clothes of Anna look in the end. The green dress, you see the different textures of the different fabrics. It's amazing.
@FartyFat People who say that are really ignorant. 2D animation definitely takes a longer time to animate, but that doesn't mean 3D animation needs a lot of effort and time as well.
@Zodiac Sagittarius eh ill argue that it is overlooked, like how so many people portray how 3d animation is worse than 2d, because its "easier". When its not the case at all.
I'm five minutes in and am still hearing more examples then I am the technical explanations. When do we get to the nitty gritty beyond just a couple programs names and basic control points?
