What’s amazing is how excited these biased commentators get when Diaz lands a punch but are basically silent when Haney outmaneuver and outpunches him. They keep praising Diaz for the way he takes Henry’s punches. Notice how silent they were when the decision was announced. Bunch of biased fools
There was a time the heavyweight division was the face of boxing. It ain't no more! These guys are great ambassadors of the sport. When they fight, it's a proper battle.
Great to see the skill and class of these guys. The competitiveness of this division reminds me of past great eras in boxing 80's, 90's & 00's. You're right though, Heavyweight was the premier event. Lennox Lewis was the last great heavyweight, pure class who beat equal legends
@David William what are you talking about. Wilder and Fury have fought three times. Usyk just fought Joshua and the rematch is pending and despite feigning retirement, Fury will likely get a boatload of money for fighting the winner. That's the most exciting division in boxing right now along with 135. Bottom line is, the lighter weights are not better than they've ever been as you proclaimed. There was an era where guys named Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran all fought. Canelo is not the greatest Mexican, there was a dude named Chavez, and no Floyd is not the best defensive fighter ever. There was a guy named Pernell Whitaker.
Both men put on a great bout, displaying thier skills and craftsmanship, they literally mirrored each other, Diaz was very respectful of the decision, a great bout all together, literally on the moral l side thier was no loser in the fight although someone had too, both guys are classy.
Now that I look back at this fight, Diaz did not hurt Haney. Devin got hit by big shots but that doesn’t mean he was hurt so everyone’s statement about him having no chin is so invalid.
@Charles Stewart Both of them grabbed and held. And y'all keep saying Devin has no chin. He got rocked in one fight. That doesn't mean he has no chin. It's simply the only thing people can say about him so they repeat it and try to make it the narrative. Also, Tank can put anybody his weight class on their back. Devin included.
@Topclassfilms he grabbed and held a lot after big shots. These guys are human it’s boxing punches hurt Devin chin isn’t the strongest tho why he faces a lot of non punchers. Jojo landed big shots and JoJo is slow imagine a stronger faster monster in Davis?
11:20 An example of Haney’s speed. The commentator didn’t see that it was actually the left hook that cause JoJo to stagger a little, not the body shot.
@Henderson thats negative haney was tagging jojo. Jojo couldn't open up. Teo fimo wasn't mentally sound at all. He came in pressing with 0 defense. Kambosos defense is just ok. Devin haney is actually superior on many different levels than Kambosos. Kambosos has decent hand speed an ok counter over hand right. And thats pretty much it. His face is open for jabs and straights all night. It might be a boxing clinic for devin haney.
@Mac Lion Jojo has never beat and fought someone of the level of Teofimo, which Kambosos toyed with. And Jojo sold himelf against Haney, he lost the fight because of his inactivity. So stop the cap, Kambosos ain't waiting on Haney.
I think that u better find ur self another hero because without a doubt Lomochenko will put Haney in retirement! Truthfully Lomochenko will spank this clown 🤡!
@Paul Wolf when u given opportunity, u can face better opposition...whats crazy tho, people give loma a pass for vacating when haney was his mandatory but call dev an email champ. That's when people are man fans and dont respect the sport
My respect shot through the roof not only because Diaz exchanged and punished Haney for keeping his hands down but his reaction to a unanimous loss was classy. Hats off to you sir and you as well Daney for playing technical instead of brute force which probably would’ve ended in a loss.
@YourBoyBenjamin i see your point, there are other boxers in hes division that hit harder like jojo himself, let me refolmulate he hits whit accuracy nad sometimes thats all you need
Awesome fight both showed heart 💪🏼, also like how Jojo clapped when Haney got the W not something you see much but I respect him for not being a sore loser and accepting that the better man won
@Sosa SamuelsRandom? Mmm. And I suppose you are premium?I I attended a live local boxing event This Sat. Morning. I help the director to keep kids fit, and out of trouble. You see, cable is a recipe for diabetis and high blood pressure. I rearely watch TV. And it is basic. Movies! The opinion of some geek tellings us what is cool and acceptable? Ok. I also have a busy schedule, that I never! Ever! Take this gadget in my hand with me. When taking random breaks,,I search if Im missing anything. So far, Nada!
I believe Jojo had the right strategy's but should've turned up the heat around 7 instead of round 10-12. He also didn't have to staying power and conditioning to finish haney
@Bill Noel Watch the whole fight. DAZN is like 20 dollars. They didn’t show any of Haney’s highlights here. It was a shut out besides the far and few combinations of Diaz
Dazn was going for jojo especially with the commentary replays And kept saying every time JoJo landed on Devin Haney they would always say he was hurt by the punch or when Haney lands a punch They would say JoJo landed that punch Or when Devin Haney does land a punch they don’t say anything lol Because he have the complexion for the neglection!
Great scrap. Devon stood his ground when he needed to, props to him. Executed the game plan and knew what he had to do all night long and when to do it
@billie Herrera old? Diaz is 29 years old 🤣. Diaz admitted that Devin beats Kambosos. Devin jus needs to work on his power. When he does he will be an absolute problem. They are not clowns. Teo and his father are the clowns lol
@Rotweiler Scholar All jabs don't have to be fast. Lol There are different jabs for different reasons. You change the speed of your jab depending on your opponent. You paw with the jab to gage the distance and to see the reaction of your opponent. Devin has one of the best jabs in boxing.
Great, Great Fight!! MUCH RESPECT for JoJo. That man can FIGHT! Haney won but Jojo definitely made him earn it. And I loved Jojo's sportsmanship,....even in defeat he applauded Haney's win. Great win Haney. Keep it going Champ! :-)
These guys who were calling that fight are a disgrace… Haney could be beating that man the whole round and get caught with one shot and they’ll say Diaz round hahaha
Haney box beautifully the first half of the fight..I think he kinda lost his legs a lil In the later rounds after that body shot.I think he loads on too many of his shots trying to prove he has power
Respect Jojo ✌ whole lotta troubles for Devin. Head snapping back, I really don't see why he's top 3. But he has time!! GO back to RJJ & let him make you a complete fighter with signature style.
I think the Kambosos fight might end up looking similar to this one. But I think Kambosos will do it better and will land more flush shots and maybe can be the first guy to score a knockdown vs. Haney.
HUGE THANKS to DAZN for uploading this and mostly all your perperview highlights right after the fights, you guys are true legends! This is how you gain fans like myself that cannot afford a perperview at the moment, to buy future ones. You guys are true SPORTSMANSHIP and not greedy at all. DAZN THE BEST!
@Wizzy G no its OTT ... over the top, streaming subscription platform. in australia we pay $ 3 monthly and thats it, thats all. we get alot of great fights. kambosos lopez, haney v diaz, parker chisora 2 etc
Devin was way more cleaner and skilled diaz was definitely in the fight just need a more discipline devin skill level is impeccable because of that I feel like he can beat anyone
Great scrap. Devon stood his ground when he needed to, props to him. Executed the game plan and knew what he had to do all night long and when to do it
Gotta appreciate how Devin Haney fights from off the ropes like that. He’s not a knockout artist but he always out boxes his opponents and the kid has a strong chin.
@Charles Igberase lol first of all i commented 5 months ago... 2nd did i say elite fighters dont get rocked??... and 3rd i was just stating the fact that thats the first time we seen devin get rocked and if the round wasn't over he definitely would've lost
As a major tank fan, I have to admit that Devin showed a great chin in this fight. He got hit with some cleannnnn shots and never seemed hurt Imo. Great fight from both men
@russell barndt it seriously does cheapen it up doesn't it? Haney being called "undisputed" is hilarious TBH. There's at least 3 LWs that are better than him, make it 4 once Shakur moves up any day now.
@A T that one trick pony is not gonna work .. What is he a heavyweight jab jab clutch jab jab clutch..he better make the most of it cause it aint gonna last.. Better do a rematch first..he is clearly fast and bigger than kambosos..make the most money out of it as he can...
@CornPopWasABadDude doesn’t matter. Now Haney has all the belts and is undisputed (which Loma never did). And he’s only 23. I love Loma but now we gotta respect Haney’s resume too
Amazing how they say that Devin Haney is dominating without the round even being over. You can really tell what fighter the promotion is really trying to sell. And I don't mean it as an insult to Devin Haney, he's a great fighter. But you can really tell by the dazn bobbleheads that do all the Talking during the fight who they want to actually be their champion
Honestly it was 9 or 10 rounds for haney. The times jojo had success were few and far between. Haney dominated most of the fight that whenever jojo had some success they would give him a pity round basically.
Diaz was considered a top opponent and Devin masterfully broke him down. Y’all keep saying Devin has no power but he makes up for it with top notch technique he is know for having the best technique in the lightweight division.
I think Haney has moved up a little too soon. At this young age, I don't think he is ready for such a giant fight so far from home turf.( and he will have to do it without his normal trainer).
That’s what the special ones do, If it was Haney vs Teo it’ll be a little more competitive… Kambosos is a hood fighter but there’s levels to this game 💯💯
Haney really looked amazing in there true high class fighter. Love the body shots they were brutal. I think he’s the better than Garcia and Davis on a technical level.
@Mason Sears he was when Loma beat him, not so much by the time Haney fought him lol. By then he'd been KO'd like 3 of his last 5 fights. Was undefeated for 6 years before Loma stopped him.
@Noel Marcano I agree with that 100 percent. Loma would stop Haney IMHO. I don't even think it'd be close, because Haney not used to fighting elite level fighters. His opponents avg records for his career are a joke. Like 20-10 😂😂😂
@Mota he's fought Haney 6 times in amateurs and they're 3-3 against each other. Garcia gave Haney his first standing 8 count ever in one of their fights... So I'm pretty sure he's not ducking him. It's been a while since I read the unbiased article about why Ryan pulled out but I believe he had a hand injury and it needed surgery.
At 5:06 anouncer goes crazy for Jojo Diaz "best punch of the fight" but doesn't realize that Haney's punch landed first. Did Diaz punch even land? The announcing was a bit too biased.
I believe Jojo had the right strategy's but should've turned up the heat around 7 instead of round 10-12. He also didn't have to staying power and conditioning to finish haney
@Idunno1344 Exactly , if tries that with Kambosos or Tank I reckon he's gonna get rocked. Tank also traded too much for no reason with Cruz. If Haney boxes he could undisputed but Kambosos is still gonna make it ruff.
@Patrick Hausenfleck Deaf reading or just have no answer when the truth is spoken? Unlike you I don't evolve around the "IF" concept. I will always base my comments on actual facts and not made up stuff.
@EDP 46 Boy you really are alone track...hear what you want kinda guy huh. Now..you just said it...That this or for that matter any of his previous bouts show that he's the best, voided boxer at 135?????? Is this not your Stance????...& If so tell everyone(cause they are def. Reading your comments) why it is with his current resume that he deserves PFP status at 135. I get he beat Jo Jo(who had moved up to 135)...so let's make other comparisons that are logical.
@Patrick Hausenfleck What does an assumption about him getting knocked out soon has to do with his current state as a better fighter than most boxers at his level. Assuming this or that is not how we judge boxers.
@Bossladi Deloach lol canelo has nothing to do with this fight boy 😂. Haters stay talking about him everywhere. Canelo stays living rent free in you head 🤪😝 stay mad my friend it only makes him more relevant 🤣
