I just want to say I'm really happy about the meta-ness of me asking "the guy off-mic" why I had never used 'chemistry' as a win before to find out that I did in Baby Driver. I honestly never would have expected I would forget something like that and so many of you would immediately remember. But you're all correct! I even said it twice in the video.

Seriously, I liked the other Spidermans, but Tom Holland is my favorite. He does literally 95% of his own stunts, his chemistry with the other cast members is incredible, and he's such a relatable Spiderman even though we aren't necessarily superheros ourselves. He's understandable, and I love that so much. The movies he's in make me laugh, they make me cry, they make me angry, they make me cringe, and they make me smile. Everyone does such an amazing job!

Absolutely and one thing I also love is how when push comes to shove he puts on the suit and gets to work, not just to save his friends but also save everyone, i.e. preventing Vulture from selling alien and Stark tech to the wrong people and Mysterio committing mass murder and colateral damage to boost his farse.
@shreshtajaiswal7415
Yeah he's probably the better overall spiderman. He does really well with both peter parker and spiderman. The others did phenomenal for one role and couldn't really fill up the other one that well. Tom's spiderman may be hated on a lot for being "cringey and just funny with no responsibility" but people forget that is his whole arc. He hasn't learned to take responsibilities as he is very much a teenager.

It honestly is one of my favorite lines in the whole MCU when Happy talks to Peter. "No one could live up to Tony. Not even Tony." Such an accurate statement and really brought me back to the original Iron Man trilogy before Infinity War and Endgame had him blasting into space in two seconds and solving the puzzle of time travel.
@murk4552
@murk4552 Yıl önce
This was an understated line of genius as the first Tony literally lost, so he had go back in time as another version of himself to be the hero who sacrified everything, saved Earth and still died. Happy said that first sentence in past tense (past Tony), btw, while the next fragment is perfect present?

The movie deserves mad props. Spiderman is probably the superhero I'm most familiar with; I knew darn well Mysterio was a Spidey villain and I STILL bought the whole "alternate reality hero Mysterio" lie hook line and sinker. Jake Gyllenhaal really sold the Mysterio-as-hero and then seamlessly sold the JK-Mysterio-is-a-fake-and-I'm-a-villain turn just as well. Bravo. I loved the cheesy high schooler-made tribute to the fallen Avengers, especially the Getty Images watermark on the last photo XD Also Tom Holland and Zendaya are so believably adorkable I love it.

Seeing the scene where the band kids suddenly appear in the middle of the basketball court and run into the players has always made me wonder, what would happen if you were standing directly where someone else was standing, and they got snapped back into existence? Would you just get pushed out of the way, or like both you just die instantly in a bloody mess? Or like what would happen if you were standing somewhere, let’s say on a cross walk, and when you re appear, there is a car right where you re appear, you would most likely get chopped into little bits

“He’s not bored,he’s just thinking about how you kidnapped him.” Love this Beck is so dry witted and hilarious here,and technically he’s correct about it being a kidnapping since Talos/Fury maneuvered the situation to get Peter exactly where he wanted him and basically dragged him from his hotel room to those catacombs. All that to say this was a great moment!
@sonar357

One line from Beck/Mysterio I liked was when he learned that one of his helpers screwed up and let a drone get captured by MJ, who then told Peter the truth: “Now I’m going to have to kill Peter Parker!” He says it in a way that is regretful. He never wanted to kill him and never planned to do so. I think that was a good, underrated character moment

Personally, I think Happy is implicitly trying NOT to be a father figure for Peter, just kind. He understands what Peter is going through, but he doesn't want to be yet another father figure (hence why especially in the beginning he's trying to not seem like he's flirting with Aunt May, who is a maternal figure for Peter). He relates to and feels for Peter, but also knows a father figure isn't who he needs right now. Either way, Happy is always a win.

@MatheusPereira-kl5tc
Mysterio was such a memorable villain to me because he played with all of the tropes of a superhero - Can't stop posing before and through action - Capes - Quips - Generic energy projection with blasts, repulsion, stationary can't-hold-it-much-longer magic shield, - One-liners - Self-sacrifice with a convenient last energy blast - Bonding moments knowing the right thing to say - World-threatening events with generic monsters destroying random stuff - Kooky codename - Superman-ish beacon of hope - Contrived, tragic backstory with lost family (attention to detail win here since Beck does wear a holographic wedding ring under the holographic left glove, or... real. Beck really got me in what's real or fake) All in order to be a believable superhero, Beck really blurred the line of what makes a hero and how characters are built. And casting Jake Gyllenhaal!? A guy so versatile that not even checking his filmography wouldn't help define of that would be a different version of Mysterio who would actually be a hero. PITCH PERFECT

I think the scene in this movies that really is just the thesis for the whole thing is the scene where Peter and Happy just sit down and have a heart to heart; starting with Peter exploding and voicing his fears and anxieties. Being a teenage super hero would be hard enough as is, but with the pressure put on him to be the next Iron-Man, it makes sense why Peter is so stressed out (I'm just surprised his face isn't as pimple populated as mine with all that baggage). He can't find an excuse to not do that so he feels obligated until Beck shows up, only for him to pull the wool over Peter's eyes and manipulate him and so expertly until he threatens his friends lives. Peter wants to trust people, he always tries to see the best in them, so having his new mentor figure abuse that and coax out everything that Peter wants to protect is so gut wrecking for Peter. That's part of why I love these videos, and I plan on making a short essay like this on all other MCU Spider-Man videos on this channel

I wish you had winned my favorite line from Happy's "pep talk." "No one can live up to Tony. Not even Tony." Just letting him know hey, stop chasing the legend of iron man. You'll never catch it, not because you're not good enough but because it doesn't exist. It's a legend and not even the man behind it could catch it. He tore himself up trying to catch it just like you're doing right now. To me that was the part that let Peter out of Tony's shadow.

What I really liked about this version of Mysterio was the way that the trailer's kind of tricked you into thinking that he may actually be the good guy in the movie. I feel like even though we wanted him to be a hero, we all knew it would end up with the classic VFX artist villain from the comics. I personally thought he WOULD be the good guy throughout the film until around the end. I thought that Quentin and Peter would take down that giant monster thing and Spiderman would get all of the credit. Mysterio would get jealous and try to kill Peter. Of course, I'm still pretty happy with the way he turned out.

One of the main obstacles of fighting venom is that he was in peters head for a while, so he doesn’t trigger peters spidey sense at all. Also Spider-Man can win at poker against his foes because of the spidey sense and that’s 300% canon (citation: he cleaned out kingpin)

I think it's fact that since Peter doesn't see Aunt May as a threat, it means that his spidey senses don't actually tell him she's there, which is why in homecoming he didn't know she was there when he got into his room in the ending, Aunt May is a ghost in his senses

I think a better way to tie together Peter's Spider-sense to today's problems of misinformation is to understand that Peter had to acknowledge, face, and let go of his fear and anxiety about living up to Tony in order to see through the holograms. Misinformation relies on appealing to people's fears, anxieties, and unconscious biases in order to propagate. If someone is secretly scared of a group of people, they'll often pay attention to whatever misleading bullshit validates their fears, instead of listening to their rational skepticism. Mysterio needed Peter's fear and anxiety that he was letting Tony down, but once that fear was acknowledged, faced, and released, Mysterio's illusions became powerless. In much the same way, the best way to see through misinformation is to acknowledge, face, and release the hidden fears and anxieties within oneself.

SavageWonton honestly, it’s just a suitcase, not every item a dead relative has is super important to their family. U know what else was in that suitcase? The Homecoming suit aka Tony’s first ever gift to Peter(also has way more personal value to Peter) is destroyed but Peter never whines about that. Even if he (understandably) did cry about that no one would like that although it makes WAY more sense.

New theory, part of the reason why peter's spidey senses arent functioning properly in this movie to begin with is because he's subconciously holding back from it, the last time he really relied on it so fully he basically felt himself DYING for like a solid 30 seconds, and then immediately was put into what is essentially one of the biggest fights on earth, where people were fighting and dying all around him. No wonder this teenage kid might have some ptsd and struggles with wanting to be spiderman and using his abilities with so much fresh trauma surrounding them.

With his spider sense, it felt more that he moved from 'general danger' to 'specific danager'. Like in most cases his spider sense / peter tingle seems only qued in when hes in fight mode, the spacehip just being a sign of so much danager he couldnt help pick up on it. But in this one Beck is activly combatting his 'fight / flight' reflexes with his illusions, so he learns to tap into it in a more specific way. Well, its not 100%, but its a thought.
