Condolences to the family members. I use to live in Half Moon Bay and I always felt it was a safe city but this was in the 70's I lived there. unfortunately times have changed.

How could this have happened? California has the most strict gun laws and regulations in the nation.

I pray that every farming community can have decent living conditions that everyone is lose gets. These people do back breaking hard work for Pennie’s and without them we wouldn’t eat. They deserve to be treat and live in way better conditions that they are forced to live in . This is unacceptable. Especially fo Silicon Valley being such a rich community. I would hope that a few of the billionaires who donate money to charitable or Gina actions would find it in there hearts to not go through an or Gina action but hire someone who they could donate money to to build some apartments or town houses for these low wage earning hard workers . So they could live in a nice well deserved home. Instead of handing over millions of dollars to an organization who won’t use all the money they get to build homes for these people they could just find a trusted person who could hire someone who can find the land needed in various farming communities who is willing to sell land they may be willing to sell at a decent price so that if someone is willing to donate money to build these homes can afford to by various plots of land in farming communities and hire a builder who is willing to build these communities at a below market price if our Government can give them tax breaks for building these much needed homes below cost. It could take just a few billionaires willing to donate a few million dollars each to make it possible for these hard working earners live in a nice home that rent would be based on there incomes. Rather then profiting off of these homes I would hope they could find it in there hearts to finally do something good for people who work really and deserve a break and a chance to live in a nice place where they can live safe and not have to stress about the horrible living conditions there families have no other choice to live in. Our Country has a lot of billionaires and if they could just find it in there hearts to do something for people who work very hard for low wages and do back breaking work. Who will never be able to afford to pay to rent a place to live on there earnings. If only someone would step up and find a way to build places for these people to live near the farming communities they work in. We need these workers and know one has ever considered helping these people who truly deserve to live in a nice home instead of living the way they are forced to live in. If only people would be willing to help these people who deserve a nice place to go home to after working forty to seventy hours a week for vary low wages. If only someone would be willing to step up and consider helping people who deserve the help more then others who get help who are getting section 8 and renting a two or three bedroom house and then turning around and renting one or two rooms to make money off of a place they are paying Pennie’s to live in. Or other people who are getting modified rent and have there boyfriend or others living with them who shouldn’t be but they are charging them to rent a room or to live with them. It is unfair that these farm workers are never given a chance to receive help to live in a nice home.

California Insider did an amazing interview with an investigator who discussed the millions of acres of California land purchased for pot farms (illegal water use anyone?) worked by Hmong migrants being forced to work and held against their will on these “farms.” All.Over.California. But you won’t hear about that from corporate media.

So let me get this straight….he was angry over his living conditions as a farm worker so he took his anger out on other farm workers?

I was a farm worker for Matsudas in Northern California for 3 years, working 6 days a week, you wanna help farm workers? Pay them more and quit taxing the ever living Sh*t out of them!!! Its stressful it's hard work, its thankless and doesn't pay well, we need help, no one wants to do the hard work either, especially the younger generation, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, I'm a white farm worker but most of the workers are Hispanic and they're very kind and loving and hardworking people they didnt deserve this, no one does, especially nursery and farm workers! We work hard and grow food I dont think people realize how important that is it doesnt just fall out of the sky, god bless and god help us all to be better people.

Inequality and immigrant farm workers is a decades old issue but it gets lost in all the other news stories. We all get the benefits of their labor but if they complain we can just deport them.

I still keep asking "what is considered affordable?" in reference to so called affordable housing? My guess would be that none of these farm workers can afford what is called "affordable" in the greater Bay Area..
