@alis_stairs also it's not waterproof and has a very low melting temperature (in that it'll start to break down at least to a degree from not that much heat), and like they mentioned in their soap making video that heat and humidity are a problem for their region, especially in the summer. And they'd no doubt put em in storage during most of the year.... Which is the attic which they've explained is unbearably hot and humid.

I'm a bit late watching this video but.... UV resin would have been a great tool of Katelyn's gingerbread house because the mold is clear. Also, UV resin is great for fixing bubble holes (like the ones on the dices you made recently).

#MastersOfResin The drama of resin is so fun to watch EVERY TIME. A summary of the commentary cycle my husband and I go through during resin videos: (1) Ooo this looks cool! But whose vision is more likely to prevail? Oooo fun Evan is going to try to be extra (2) Do you remember to double glove???? (3) Mixing for daaaaaays and oh God will there be enough time the countdown has started why do they do such time sensitive things so stressful (4) OOOH PRETTY esp if there are sparkles slash will we ever be as artistic (5) The pour the pour the pour will it work out and will Katelyn's hair be safe THE TENSION (6) WHY IS THERE FIRE oh right I always forget about the bubble popping part (7) Uh oh it's getting hot it's getting hot will they finish in time oh gosh oh gosh (9) WHEW the pour is done (10) So how the heck is this going to look when it's done? (11) one sleep later - thank goodness for editing I can barely picture getting a good night's sleep after all that srsly dramatic tension (12) OOOOOH PRETTY THE REVEAL! Completely unrelated - have you ever thought of working with dichroic glass? The kind that makes more than one color depending on what light shines through it? My last gingerbread house was actually for eating. It was a Halloween house, filled with candy bones, cake gel blood, and giant dark chocolate malted milk ball spiders inside, and flavored with pumpkin extract, but it was for a baking competition, so I sought out a tasty gingerbread recipe. It was delicious, and not once did I feel like I could break my teeth on it.

My family makes ginger bread houses for the sole purpose of eating them later - a lot of my design choices consist of "how tasty will this be later?". In my family there was never much room among all the other decorations so ginger bread houses were just fun, fancy snacks

My local chocolate brand has a chocolate house thing every christmas. They give you instructions on how to make it (using their products). Thats what my family did this year. Everyone was much happier.

To answer your question, I don’t normally eat much of my gingerbread houses. That’s why I always fill the inside of the house with a few handfuls of good candy I DO want to eat. Like a really easy piñata.

I built a gingerbread house with my 3 yr old this Christmas and we ended up taking it apart to eat the next day, upon his request. Both of your houses were definitely a much bigger success! The white hot glue is so much cleaner and more aesthetic than royal icing.

Lovely as always. You should give yourself prompts and draw them from a hat. Material + design prompts that will give you a random combo. (You can put resin into the material hat multiple times of course, we won't tell.)
