Okay, another crazy race, and what a twisting story it was. Yet again, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were often fighting for the same piece of race circuit. So let’s break down some of the incidents from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Why did Verstappen crash in qualy, when he didn’t really need to? Was Lewis’ racing fair after the first restart? Will Verstappen EVER yield in wheel-to-wheel racing? And, did he brake test Lewis?

First off, the drama all started on Saturday, when Max had put together a mostly astonishing lap - fast, hard and taking risks. He was over 2 tenths up on Hamilton at the end of sector two. Then into the final corner he tried to carry a little too much speed in, locked a front left tyre.

Whether or not he needed to be pushing so hard at this point is debatable - especially when he had a good margin. However, it’s unlikely he knew Hamilton’s time, I doubt he was talking to his engineer during the lap (as the Jeddah circuit requires so much focus with little break).

So, Verstappen’s only reference would have been his own time delta - the plus or minus his best time - on the steering wheel. And as a racing driver - especially in his position - the default mode is to push as hard as possible.

Didn't know where to start for this one! What did you make of it?

I was amused by Michael Massi offering RB 2nd place for the 2nd re-start, before he was told Ocon was in 2nd place when the red flag went out.
As usual, a fantastic video
Imagine how simpler it would be if track limits were actually the limit of the track. If a driver can remain/gain position by leaving the track and returning without a physical penalty (gravel/grass/wall etc) then this argument will continue forever. You can blame Max or Lewis as much as you like but the problem begins in the track layouts. So off we go to Abu Dhabi....
Great video as always
I feel the same as you there needs to be some good old fashioned gravel traps. A race shouldn't be won by the stewards decisions and how many penalties you can get away with. It should be a man to man battle with better sportsmanship. F1 is turning into basketball.

I’m happy for the competition and excitement but this driving off the track thing feels like they straight up cheating. I would do the same in games as a kid purposely knowing I would get a penalty. They’re basically exploiting that. Otherwise the races are getting fun
After 10 years of RB and Merc having minimal competition people had forgotten how intense multi team battles were. Personally I'm happy that there's so much competition

I was confused by bottas not getting a warning for backing the traffic up for the double stack

Forgot to mention the reason of Verstappens bad first restart...(Hamilton delaying during the ride to the start positions)
Now that it is over, I’d love to see some honest dialogue regarding how Merc went from .5-1.0 slower to all of the sudden being the quicker car? In an Engine freeze year.

Congratulations to you both.

This season has been really entertaining and that has been to do with the quality of driving and the decisions made
aw congrats on your wedding!! and major props for getting such a great video out amid all that associated craziness haha!
Congratulations brother! 🙌

Congratulations on the marriage! I wish you many years of Bliss! And thanks for the great videos! I think the current driving styles are giving F1 a black eye.

Congrats on wedding!

Congrats on the wedding man! And thank you for continuing to push quality videos such as this despite the occasion.

For someone with an English accent, I appreciate your non-biased and honest appraisal of the Hamilton/Verstappen impact. I think Verstappen moved left and right and then braked, which is a pretty universal "PASS ME" indicator if you want faster traffic to go around you instead of sitting on your back bumper. But I agree, it may have been a brake check out of frustration - or, most likely a combination of both. It doesn't explain why Hamilton would, chasing down his main opponent, see him slow to a halt, and drive right up behind him where he was at RISK of a brake check. He easily could have matched his speed on the inside even with Verstappen's tail if he thought there was something suspicious - he knew that the odds were that Verstappen was going to have to give up his place, even if he hadn't been told so. So why fall in place right behind him?

The only real take away from this weekend is that the FIA is literally making it up as they go along
