@john kendall right? They'll let him shoot and he'll score. I like the one when he made a 3 and it hasnt sunk in yet, but he already celebrated and raised his hands.
@almarjyou Rodman could score. Look at his college stats. It just wasn't his role. The other team still had to guard him because if they slept he would burn them.
Dude. Do some more research. AIDS is caused by poor health, primarily brought on through starvation, of which Magic Johnson was neither. He contracted HIV, which has been proven to NOT cause AIDS. He has fully recovered, and is STILL with us today. Wake tf up.
Michael Jordan won MORE than a championship that night. The Bulls completed the greatest season in NBA history in his first full season back, but more importantly, the image of him crying in the locker room at 8:48 has stayed with me. He wanted the ball, screaming, "It's for my father!" Michael Jordan won the respect and adulation of the entire world on that particular Father's Day!
@L L If you consider the heat a superteam then so were the bulls... mj pippen Rodman Kerr was a sharpshooter. Rodman was probably the best rebounder ever if he played longer... pippen was massively underrated.... on offense and defense and he had the best coach of all time... lebron has won with 2-3 rookie head coaches
@Horizon with respect. None of the current day rebounders even come close to the impact that Rodman brought. Rodman wasn't just physical, he anticipated the bounce of the ball, outhustled, and even mentally dominated weaker players. Dude even shutdown Shaq, giving up 6" and 60+lbs
There will never be another Michael Jordan!!!! And there will never be a team more electrifying team to watch fly up and down the court than the 90’s bulls!!! Best era of basketball there will ever be !
Don’t forget it was this Sonics team that beat the Rockets in the playoffs stopping Rockets from a possible 3 peat and a meeting with the Bulls in the finals.
1.5 year retirement... Then within THREE years - 3 championships - 2 MVPs - 2 All Star MVPs - 3 Finals MVPs - 3 scoring titles - 3x times 1st All NBA Team - 3x times 1st All NBA Defensive Tean - Best team ever with the best record (72-10) to also win a championship in the same season. - 203 wins against 43 losses - played in 246 from 246 Regular Season games = Missed 0 games
@Joshua Alestre it's nice to meet you thanks for your honesty and the rules made the game harder in the 1950's and 1960's when led by wilt chamberlain and bill russell
MJ always goes for the rebounds... And played defense while being the highest scorer for his team... You cant say the same thing with the superstars now. 🤐
These guys were all my heroes when I was growing up. The guys from the nineties could hang and beat any current team no doubt! People forget how great these dudes were.
DAMN do i miss the 90's. Basketball at its finest. Look at Rodman's emotion in this game. He loved playing basketball! You dont see that in today's NBA
With the Bulls, especially during the 2nd 3peat, there was a feeling of inevitability. No matter what the score was by the end of the 3rd quarter you know by the 9min mark of the 4th (the time MJ comes back to the game) they will comback. When the game is 5pts or less with 5mins to go, you know the Bulls got the game in the bag already. When they were down 3 with 40secs to go in game 6 in Utah, you just know Jordan will come up big and take care of business like he always has. With the other dude that's the best player today, its up in the air.
And it not "only" what MJ did and how he commanded his team, it was HOW he did it. More times than not, it was works of art, absolute aweinspiring and nature defying shit and what ENTERTAINMENT is ALL about. You didn't want to miss a second, cuz you never knew, when he was gonna do some shit worthy of a cape. The same goes for the great Emmit vs. Barry discussions on best RB. Barry had that outofthisworld X-factor as well, why I will go to the grave with Barry Sanders being the greatest RB to ever suit up.
I totally agree. It's hard to explain but there came that moment in the 4th quarter, no matter what had transpired beforehand. You had Jordan. You just knew it was their destiny.
Clark Bucher mj is still more physically gifted than lebron. big hands, long wing span, can jump very high either with one foot or with two feet, really good core muscles, cat like quickness, deceptive strength and top it all with the crazy drive to win.
Dennis Galabo - So true! What's crazy is EVERYONE knew Jordan carried that dagger for his opponents hearts, yet no one could stop it. Michael was the only one who could really stop Michael. That is what makes him the GOAT. LeBron might be more physically gifted because of his size and freakish athleticism, but teams don't fear the dagger from LeBron. If I had my choice of who I'd rather face, Jordan or James, I'd pick James every time. I want no part of Jordan, especially in the playoffs..
And this is why the Bulls are better, in terms of being a well loved team... They have different colorful characters that is so fun to cheer for when they do their best of what they do. From Rodman's antics but with intelligent and hustle plays, Kerr's three point specialty, Kukoc all around game, Harper's offensive threat, Pippen's domination on both ends of the court, and MJ of course. Not to mention the rest of the Bulls' energetic bench. They have the charisma of a fantasy team.
part of the reason michael jordan will always be considered the greatest of all time was his personality. he dominated the game physically and emotionally with the tremendous charismatic presence he carried with him into the court and out among the fans and the press
@Bubby Baube Jordan had shit players till 1991. Even Pippens first 3 years werent great. His first year as a rookie he averaged 7 points a game. The east had the Celtics and Pistons which were great teams and both stacked. Lebron played in a weakass east. He couldnt win a ring what did he do??? He jumped ship to create a superteam in Miami joining Wade and Bosh. After 2 rings he jumped ship again to play with Kyrie and Love and won his 3rd and final ring. No matter how you slice it Jordan stuck it out for 7 years and battled and once he got one all star player to score 20 points a game (Scottie Pippen) Jordan won a ring everytime. Jordan will always be the goat 6-0 with 10 Scoring titles and highest point average per game at 30.12. Lebron will go out 3-6 enough said!
Justin Guinn "The Bulls made the playoffs, but not the Caveliers." Chicago record in 1984 : 38-42. Chicago record in 1985 : 30-52! 30 WINS and your team still makes the playoffs. Many teams in the NBA back then make the playoffs with a losing record. The 1985 Bulls were the worst team to ever make the playoffs since the 1950s! Caveliers first two years record were better than 30 WINS.
Jordan got class not like LeBron James. I like how Jordan give a speech and interview. that's why a lot of fans around the world and in America like and respect him cause he got good personaliy and got class
Tyler Schmidt absolutely dynamic. He said that when he was in the court he could feel every eye in the arena on him....so the interviewer asked what does that feel like...he said it used to make his skin burn...☺ #thegreatest
Dennis Rodman co-mvp of these finals : no doubt about this !!!! His impact on the game was tremendous and fundamental for the Bulls !!! Best defensive passion and energy player of all time !!!
Competition was far better in 2016 than 1996, plus Draymond Green, the Warriors' defense's heart and soul, was suspended in a potential series clinching game 5. Not to mention, their starting center Andrew Bogut got hurt in game 5. Also, Steph definitely wasn't 100% in that series because of that ACL sprain in the first round of the playoffs.
Dynamic!!! Loved the NBA back then. Love what the bulls brought to the NBA. The most exciting team to watch So much excitement and Michael made it spectacular!!
One thing I love about your uploads is it never focuses on one player. Most Bulls videos are Jordan highlight reels while ignoring the other players. I'm one of those hoops fans that enjoy seeing everyone get their due. Pippen's defense and all-around game, Rodman's rebounding, hustle and intensity.are all on display. Ron Harper, Kukoc and Kerr get in on the mix. And the video quality is some of the best I've seen. Keep it up!!
This is how great champions and great teams play. I'm so grateful use to see this when I was kid here in Chicago. Very proud of the bulls. It's like poetry in motion.
*If it wasn't for these clips, I'd forget how good S. Pippen was.* The whole bulls team was magic. I mean, they defined basketball in a scientific way.
I miss the 90's Chicago Bulls! I miss the 90's period, with everything being the way it is in the world today the 1990s seemed like a much simpler time. Regardless of color or race Americans had each others backs instead of being at each other's throats.
Back then when NBA was great and when i was such a huge fan but since bulls rebuild I lost interest. Watching this video makes me reminisce the great nba time ❤️
Greatest sports intro in history. Just watching the intro brings me so many chills and brings back the amazing feelings I felt before those Bulls games in the playoffs and finals, it's like I could relive the whole experience just by watching the intro.
Back in the 90s, the only two forces to be reckoned with is Air Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Honestly, I still captured those wonderful Chicago Bulls championship moments in my mind. I mean to witnessed those awesome moments on television is something that I can not put into words.
This is why Jordan is the greatest. It's the drama, the theatre, and the emotions of his moments that puts him heads and shoulders above everyone else. Jordan made you care about him and you longed to see what was next for him and what he was ultimately capable of. He's the most "prime time" of all the players. #belikemike
This series went 6 imagine replacing Payton with Steph , Kemp with KD , and Detlef with Klay then add Draymnnd IGGY and Shaun Livingston Warriors smoking that ass
I challenge anybody to watch 90's clips the defense was trash. Slow bulky centers. Simple moves got You past your defender who was even handling the rock back then nobody
@Jose Daquiz I know it's college, but the fastest team ever was in the early 90's and averaged 122 points a game. If college kids could run it back then, pros could too. I also realize I'm responding to a 2 year old comment lol
In retrospective, this series was a great team effort by one of the best teams ever assembled. The Sonics were a REALLY good team that year and the Bulls almost swept them and they didn’t really need Jordan to go all superhuman to win it all. Rodman also played very inspired to win his 3rd ring...
Debu Pegasus Kukoc was not only 3-pointer,he was all-around player, just couldn’t guard as effectively as Scottie, plus Ron Harper was hell of a player, solid scorer and excellent defender.
Michael Jordan won my unconditional respect on this day, but my respect for him was beyond the game of basketball. He had dedicated this game and season to his father who died three years earlier, and this game was won on Father's Day. His emotions were completely understandable!
This is the era where amazing happens. Bulls has everything; the best scorer & goat, best sidekick, best rebounder, best sixman, best 3 shooter, best defense trio, and best coach. Not only in that year but in the history of basketball, ALL OF THEM.
What a moment. It was my 25th birthday. Watched it live on tv and was almost in tears myself. Greatest team of all time, with the greatest player of all time. At, 9:48, Michael is on the verge of breaking down again; Ahmad pats him on the back, to get him through it. An unbelievable moment that no Chicago sports fan or Illinois native will ever forget.
The 95-96 Sonics need to be respected too because they were one of the teams who could actually almost beat Chicago I mean they have scorers and defenders like Kemp and Payton and Payton actually reduced Jordan's numbers in the finals series with his great defense and I remember that the last representation of them was the 11-12 Thunder who also stood a chance against Miami even though its 1-4
This video highlights just how balanced the '96 Bulls were... 3's from Kukoc, Harper, Pippen Jordan, Kerr ... Rodman with 18 rebounds ... 11 on the offensive side ... the heart of course was MJ ... he'd be even more of a monster today with no hand checking ... and if double teamed, someone would be open who could shoot the ball (reminder, Kerr remains the NBA's career 3 point % leader).
The characters, the passion, the way Dennis fires up the entire arena, Scottie was everywhere cutting passes and draining threes, and Michael with dagger shots and diming to teammates for open jumpers. It just doesn't get any better.
Still unbelievable that Dennis Rodman was only 6'6" and he out rebounded everybody ! Anyone who doubted his H.O.F. induction needs the check his all time stats and remember how tall he was.
Michael Jordan was just 5 for 19 shooting in this game, and the Bulls still won by 12 points. Jordan was 11-12 from the free throw line and had 22 points. Pippen 17, Longley 12, Harper 10, and Kukoc 10, were also in double figures. The big difference in this game was the Bulls rebounding. Chicago outrebounded Seattle 51 to 35, and 24 to 12 on the offensive boards. All of those extra possessions were a big key to victory. Dennis Rodman had a huge game with 9 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers, and 19 rebounds... 11 offensive rebounds. The most points Seattle could score in one quarter against the Bulls suffocating defense was 20. Final: Bulls 87 Sonics 75. Championship #4 of 6
Rodman, Rodman, Rodman without him the Bulls aint the same. That reverse layup was tight and he hype the crowd!!! Man there's nothing like tha Bulls. These new teams don't have the same Motivation on the court like this. They need to start watching these Bulls Games to get it!!
It could definitely be argued, that Rodman was the MVP of that series by the narrowest of margins. His rebounds. Getting inside the head of key Sonics players. Etc.
5:56 best moment in NBA Finals history. Rodman with so much swag right in front of the Sonics bench LOL. At that moment they had to know they were beaten. Pippen got his swag on hitting two late threes in the 4th right in front of the Sonic bench as well.
As a Native Chicagoan, I miss and loved those days. I know other people became sick and tired of the Bulls but as a Chicago Sports fan, we deserved everyone of those days of glory. Chicago was done with the title of losers.
man i miss nba on nbc! that jingle brings me back to when basketball was more than just sport to watch, you lived with your team, you knew almost every starting five for every team, and everytime you gave a hard foul it didnt result in a technical.. man i miss those days!
The shot Steve Kerr made at min 3.55 is hilarious. It went right through the basket, I mean it hit nothing but net. If there were not net it woulda just sailed through without even toughing the rim at all. What a beautiful arch and rotation he put on the ball to get that kinda result.
The Bulls out rebounded the Sonics in this game 51 to 35, and the Bulls had a whopping 24 offensive rebounds led by Rodman's 19 rebounds... 11 offensive.
