I love the concept of friendship in this whole presentation. I can't help but feel nostalgic for the friendships I acquired in my twenties when I watch Boygenius videos and interviews. Thanks for bringing me back to that time. I love the line in True Blue "When you don't know who you are, you fuck around and find out". How do they always know how to say things so well? Wishing the band so much success with this album.
For artists who write pretty directly, it's a particularly clever line. It's as easy to take it in a sad way or a messy, but hopeful way. Here's hoping we all find a way to surround ourselves with people who strengthen us.

Truly beautiful. I really liked the dreaming imagery along with the different stories told in each song. It fits very well. Like, Julien sleeping and dreaming of leaving that place and then finally leaving in that blue car that shows up in Phoebe's story, whom wakes up to a realization about a relationship and burns the lie or the story she believed she was in, very simbolic since the fire she started was showed previously in $20. Also, I love that she's wearing pijamas. And finally, Lucy seems like she's daydreaming about someone she loved or she really cared about. Kissing the people she loves in that point of her life (Julien & Phoebe) is also simbolic, since the lyrics in that moment are "I can't hide from you like I hide from myself", showing the trust they have for one another because they know each other very well. The end is very on point too, just three pals waking up from their different stories where they help each other even when they were not being conscious of it. Just my interpretation. ✨
I love the throughline of them populating their lives and memories with one another; helping each other get rid of and change things they no longer need; and helping each other feel loved, comforted, and beautiful.
I know how loud monster trucks are. It's funny to imagine Phoebe singing softly to herself while surrounded by vehicles so shatteringly noisy it'll vibrate your whole ribcage from 20ft away.
I’m a 50-something Gen Xer and not really sure why this “film” popped up in my feeds, but I’m glad it did! The songs are all great, but I especially liked the one with the monster truck thing going on in the background. Enjoy the music of your era: it will become the soundtrack to your life!
I'm similar in demographic and this is the soundtrack of my current life. They're incredible and immediate and make me nostalgic, sad, happy, all the feels.
I love the ways that each of their unique vibes are captured in each part. It especially stands out to me with Phoebe. That consistent undercurrent of brutality that she often brings really shines - like, for example, in the shot of her in True Blue. Paint splattered on her clenched fist and face like blood spatter. Beautiful
@R Cusick Sometimes I fee like Phoebe is more KEEP IT COOL, DON'T SHOW TOO MUCH while Julien and Lucy can be childish in behavior and not so restrained, I don't know if it's correct observation, how do you think? 😄❤️

I'm no physicist, but when this much talent occupies the same space isn't it supposed to collapse into a neutron star or something? Every other musical "supergroup" can just sit down now. (PS: Kristen Stewart, please direct more things already. Your compositions and color choices are staggeringly beautiful)

i love the way everyone played with time in this film. this is one of those films where i want to be so inspired by it that it makes me jump into action and be who i want to be, but it reminds me that everyone else is just as much on the ground as i am and that every now and then we break through when its right and even when its wrong. in other words, thank you for sharing your love and pain with the rest of the world
When they all kissed i got goosebumps. Heart touching, making all the songs together like a film is masterpiece. Thank you phoebe bridgers for making me listen to boygenius. And also to Birdy who first post her favourite songs list in Instagram post and there i found Funeral by Phoebe, and the life for me was not the same since.
i will not shut up about the little details in this. how the sweater of young lucy in $20 has the blue paint from true blue, young phoebe wearing striped shorts pouring gas around the house like in emily i’m sorry. WHAT A MASTERPIECE IM LOSING MY MIND
I cannot wait to see them live this summer! Three of my favorite artists ever and they’re close friends making beautiful, transformative art together! What’s unique about each of them still shines through when they collaborate, and I’m so grateful I found each of their work.

I was just going to comment about how much I loved that in each song, in the end they're all together in a beautiful friendship, and I just loved how much they love each other. But then the kiss AND kristen stewart directed?? I didn't think boygenius could top themselves, but they keep doing it!!

Should have been huge. Best album of the year so far, but in the UK it only made it to number 85 in the charts apparently 😮. It should be number one for months !
i genuinely have never loved a band this much before, i also never realised how gay i truly was… this record is album of the decade for me, so many intricacies and attention to detail and love and sparkly melodic emotion which makes me grateful to be alive at the same time as it. ty. history is being made boys ‼️

after you watch it for the second time you catch on little details you didn't see before. like lucy being covered in blue tint on julien's dream and phoebe being saved of the fire she started herself 😮 really well thought

This is brilliant from start to finish. The little details with how the visuals connect to the heart and lyrics of the songs….and how the three stories are interconnected….just so well done.
I love this so much. The casting of the kid versions of the boys 😊. But would have loved Aimee Mann or Sharon Van Etten as the mom ❤ killer album it’s nice that they wrote every song for me ❤
