Hawthorn prices include gratuity, as stated in the scene before Dessert, so that store-bought ingredients burger is priced almost exactly correct. Also the point was that it doesn't take fancy ingredients to make great food. Great food is made with care and love.

Also, seeing the tiniest little mistakes even in videos today and not only refusing it edit it out, but narrate them is simply beautiful. Babish has always prided himself on admitting the mistakes he makes in his videos, and it's only made him consistently humble. Even if it's something as tiny as the tripod being just a hair off.

@Solgaleo35 Yeah, both courses involve the death of a person, or persons in the case of the s'mores, highly recommend the movie though, it's hilarious. They call it a horror comedy, but they lean heavily into the comedy, absurdist and black, and barely any horror (beyond the premise, that people will get hurt).

I’m not exactly sure why, and I can’t eloquently put this into words… but this video felt so perfect. A classic Binging With Babish video with Andrew recreating a simple meal into something that does not demand 100-hundred extra steps. But he did it anyways, and it was beautiful. Oh and can’t forget about Juparo playing in the background. :)

Great episode; the "reverse Coldstone" idea you had for the American cheese was very extra and the results were beautiful. But yeah, both burgers looked awesome and you totally didn't need to do that. Both this and "Pretty Patties" were some of the best Babish videos I've seen in a while.

Protip: if you don't have sodium citrate, you can make your own sodium citrate solution by reacting baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) with lemon or lime juice(citric acid) in a warm pan over medium/medium low heat. Make sure it's fully reacted before adding milk so it doesn't curdle. Adam Ragusea has a video with this technique in it.

You absolutely can add water to a dry dough, it's called bassinage and it actually helps when making any bread product. This allows the dough to hold more water than if all the water was mixed in at once. Also the average burger bun in the restaurant is weighed at around 90g before the second proof.

@Do the flip i definitely feel like alvin’s putting a lot more work here than into his own channel which kind of doesn’t make sense to me. i don’t know how to put it but just like killbot said, lots of us came here for BABISH, not alvin
Do the flip
Do the flip Aylar önce
@X9Killbot Yeppers, I mean Alvin can stay sure. But i kinda feel like he's leeching off of Andrew to get out of buzzfeed. I'm certainly not interested in "Anime with Alvin" After all Andrew has already 9.99mil sub as of this comment. I feel like Alvin could have his own cooking channel but HE DOESN'T WANT TO since he has "Babish" and all his equipment and crew. Andrew worked HARD for YEARS for what he has now. Alvin went in an had everything ready and now everyone loves him. But that's just imo

@Do the flip Yeah. I came here because I liked Babish, his voice, his commentary, and his technique. Alvin just doesn't have it for me. It's like when King of Random got his co-host. I just didn't like the new guy's stuff.

@loserbrandon My bad, it appears I've heavily misjudged the original comment's point. Initially thought they were referring to how 'less of Babish' has contributed to decrease in view count, appears I was wrong
loserbrandon
loserbrandon Aylar önce
@gouda cheese I wrote an argument but it deleted, but I'll just summarize my points. I think it's just TRvid's cycle. Babish's views have been declining even before the universe (if we point Alvin as the beginning). It's also important to note that alvin's videos performing poorly is more of a hit or miss, and we can see this because it happens typically when he's making more unknown food. Koufuku Grafitti and Asteroid in Love are niche at best and generally unknown to even the most well-versed anime fan. It's a no-brainer that they would garner less views. I don't disagree that the other videos are performing poorly, probably due to the exclusion of Babish, but I personally don't see Alvin as an issue (which was my main point, I don't think Alvin is at fault for the degradation of views). I personally like Alvin's videos, and while I think that Babish would probably get more views if he did the food himself, I don't think that it's actively detrimental considering the workload involved, if he were to do everything.

Great video, it's fantastic to see you're back to the classic Babish formula of "let's do it simple, then let's go crazy and do it the hard way" ❤😅 and I gotta say that grinding my own beef blend at home has REALLY elevated my burger game. Like, you wouldn't think it would make THAT much difference, but it totally does. Especially with a super-simple burger.

What I liked about the cheeseburger in the movie was that it wasn't a fancy, gourmet burger, but an ordinary one. The chef was excited to make it because it was most likely the first time in years that he had made ordinary food instead of fine dining food that needed to look perfect. Trust me, I get that same feeling when I make a burger at home.

@Google made me do it they're talking about a sense of play and fun in the craft, not sense of humour. Obviously if you don't enjoy cooking then this stuff isn't for you, this is for people that love to immerse themselves in experimentation and trying to create the best food they can. This isn't the same as why the weird abstract art pieces they called food were so joyless to make in the movie at all. The point of the movie isn't that elaborate cooking is bad. It's that cooking that pursues art over genuine satisfaction for shallow wealthy people that just want to throw money at novel experiences to say they did it, is soul destroying. Money and power is the issue here, and those it's corrupted that use those around them to feed their own whimsical egos.
Sierra Smitty

@Google made me do it Show cooking is what Babish used to do super often though, and he went back to that formula for this episode. Whenever he does something simple, he does it the way most people would first and then he overcomplicates it for the giggles. See: the Regular Show grilled cheese sandwich episode. Dude's just having fun and messing around in a kitchen on camera lol, don't worry bout it

@Clayton Marnin She was allowed to leave because she played it smart. First, she sent something back to the kitchen. His etiquette forces him to please her, so she orders the burger. Then, she asks if she can take it home, and we all know you can order burgers at the restaurant and take them home. It's a genius poker game on her part and he loved being a part of it. Just this ordinary interaction instead of this stuffy mess he got himself into.

I think the only thing I’d try to make from this is…. Everything. But the bun will be first. Those buns look amazing.

I suppose the cheese and meat were somewhat better, but I bet the buns were much much better. They looked really appetizing. Fresh bread has to be extra yummy.

I am so picky about cheese that most times I just avoid eating it or using it. But this video made me genuinely want a cheeseburger again.

The first restaurant I worked at we hand cut, soaked, blanched, and then cooked the fries. It was a bit quicker process than this seemed but they are my favorite fries I’ve had to this day.

The approximate cost is actually a really great piece of info! I’d love to see that on more videos where you compare!

You should do an episode featuring the food from Total Drama Island's "Brunch of Disgustingness " episode. The food may or may not be edible but at least it'd be a really fun watch and an opportunity for fans to see the "dishes" in live-action.

Babish! I have been watching you for years and years and have always wondered what food I would suggest and I finally have it! The foods from A Knights Tale! Like dilled veal balls and squash fritters. Also, I am literally writing this to you in the middle of the night after waking from a dead sleep with this realization. Hope all is well!!
