It seems every so many years we get to witness a very unique sultry voice. We've had Billie Holiday, Nina Simone. Amy Winehouse, now we have Angelina Jordan.
Like alot of people, I didn't know who she was until AGT in 2020. Now like alot of people I am going back in time to see this voice of heaven as a 7 year old and all I can say is OMG!! Many kudos for her parents and grandmother playing Jazz and exposing her little brain to that. She was born with talent and tapped into that Jazz she heard from her crib. Kids are like sponges!
Noticed she sounds exactly the same at 7 as she does at 13 and now 16 she has literally Master jazz singing at age 7 so the usual comments about how much better her voice will be once she has more experience don't apply I've heard that she was 2 years old and would sit with her grandmother who had an extensive collection of jazz music and they would do nothing but listen to amazing Jazz performers song after song and sing all day it's like she learned the language of jazz before her native tongue
@poweredman We know this because there are many videos where her maternal grandmother, herself a child prodigy in her native Iran, not in singing but in painting and other artistic activities, is in or behind the "camera" with her cell phone. It was her grandmother who introduced her to the great jazz singers and classic songs of the past.

I think of how she does covers as a selective overlay as in Photoshop. Another way is she sings her version of a cover. When she deems it she is singing then she dips down in Jung’s Collective Unconscious and adopts, adds another voice. She never disrespects the original artists.
Something strikes me about Angelina, which is possibly unique of any singer I've seen: when she sings without music is makes it BETTER. Her voice is so supernaturally bloody gifted that music actually detracts from it.
I am still amazed to hear her sing “I’m a Fool To Want You” the way she did - and at 7! In Acapella at that! Her “Summertime” is so sultry, you’d think a 40 year old, experienced singer, was singing her heart out. George Gershwin would be proud and totally blown away. Angelina is just a beautiful talent and it is always a pleasure to hear her sing!
When I was 7 I could barely catch the bus in time for school. Angelina is transcending the music industry at 7 and getting better at phenomenal speed😂. She’s going places.

Her mom looked so proud, but I wonder if she could’ve imagined how her little girl was on her way to being one of the greatest vocalists in history. Angelina is a prodigy… a guru… she is a legend. ❤
"Bang, Bang" is the first public performance I know of that AJ had with live accompaniment -- and IMO (given her age) is one of her best. "Summertime" is even better -- really, almost flawless. The difference between her NGT audition at 7 (which was astonishing) and her final NGT performances at 8 (just a few months later) is the most remarkable advancement in confidence and technique of any singer I have ever heard. I don't know what happened in that interval (except that one of her front teeth grew in), but just look at her interaction with the guitarist and the trumpet in her last two performances. In those few months, she became "The Boss".
I love they didn't dress her beyond her years .. even years later she still presents herself in a classy not trashy manner.... U either have it or you don't... She has it!!!
@Bianca w when I was dating my now fiancee many years ago I had a young son n two teen( pre teen ) girls... I was always trying to get my girls to present themselves with a sense of decorum as I knew as they got older they would be better served with manners, etiquette etc... My fiancee often spoke of " the sexualization of America".. now, he was joking alot of the times but he did find it somewhat distressing to see " pop idols" dressed like they worked in the local bordello influencing young impressionable girls!!! My point is basically I agree with you....

@DaveZ was it " my baby shot me down"? .. that is NOT a wedding dress.. I'm a 65 yr old woman n I know a wedding dress... The flowers in her hair have been worn periodically from the beginning... Frankly I think they are lovely! Let me know if I'm mistaken!!!
Not raw talent. A lot a lot of training with professional voice coaches from the age of three, and a professional management in the background. This is not talent that fell from the sky, it's hard work (and very determined parents).
I’ve seen this a while back and it honestly get me misty eyed. Now..I can’t watch without crying. Her confidence is absolutely incredible. Her tone, just everything about her performances are stellar. Just fantastic.
I heard her performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in 2020 AGT. I was captured by her generic talent of a master song interpreter! Hence, my effort of knowing her singing tracks. Gloomy Sunday of Billie Holiday, a 7 y.o. girl just claimed as her own song! What a talent!
I have listened to her sing bohemian rhapsody several times it never gets old, every time I still get goosebumps and tingle all over my body. Wow, wow, wow, Her voice and her tempo is so captivating it's kinda spooky. In a good way ofcourse.
Honestly, her voice is so soothing that she takes away my stress. What a precious angel she is physically and that wonderful gifted voice she has. Now she's grown up to be a beautiful young lady and still very, very talented. I am a fan of hers!
I love how simple the stage and the audience appears in the Norway version of this show. Everything's so over the top here in the USA. I love this...I want to move to Norway.
100 year old soul, reborn on this miracle 7 year old gorgeous little girl... We are all very lucky to have lived long enough to see her sing... Amazing !
I could listen to Angelina’s singing all days and never get bored. Such a voice. So many beautiful voices on AGT contestants which are similar tone with one another, but Angelina? It is one of a kind to make you fall asleep if you have insomnia. And what a face and she is very lady like and seems reserved.

Angelina is such a great singer at such age at that time. It's just weird to hear a 7 year old kid singing a suicidal song in front of the crowd. It gave me goosebumps!
Her taste in songs are my favorite thing about her. I'm 23, and I thought I was youngest person who still loves these classy scores of the past decades
Fantastic vocals on all these songs and the depth of feeling coming from Angelina is like a drug to my ears. Totally amazing talent. Did anyone else notice how Angelia's front left tooth had a growing bout and in the last clip it was almost level with the right tooth; so cute.
Unlike AGT:The Champions 2 which was pre-recorded over a short period of time, less than a month (October 3 to October 21, 2019), NGT took place over several months and we can see the evolution of her singing and confidence from one performance to the next. We even see her baby teeth fall out and new teeth grow in.
Goosebumps over freaking goosebumps, her voice gets into your soul, it has power to pull you in her world and you will cry but you don't why but you just felt it!
Jesus. Even at 7 she was amazing. I cannot wait to see her evolve more and more into her musical journey. This girl is beyond special. And she covered Monophonics!! Goddamn. I’d love to hear her so that now.

I swear I was listening to Billie Holiday!! That was insane! I only discovered Angelina about a month ago (can't believe it took me that long to find out about her), and after listening to a bunch of her other songs, I finally had to come and listen to her performances on NGT...and WOW!!! I knew she was awesome, but to hear her flow from Billie Holiday to Nancy Sinatra to George Gershwin so effortlessly was almost surreal. This young lady is a generational talent!
What can be said about Angelina. Prodigy. Greatness. Stunning. Yes, there are no words that can adequately describe Angelina. Words have not yet been invented to describe what she is or will become. We will just have to accept her greatness without words. She is ahead of us all.

Such a gorgeously haunting voice. So tiny, yet very very powerful, sounds fantastic singing jazz blues type of music. Reminds me of the wonderfully rich sounds from Amy Winehouse (rip). So happy she won👏👏👏✨✨🤩😘 Excited to hear more from her in future, she will be a superstar!!!
Everything about her is gorgeous !! When God was handing out voices, Angelina was at the front of the line. She has the most beautiful eyes and hair i ever saw. So much confidence. What a Godly talent. She won this show hands down. Bless her soul !!!!
Once every 100 years a specific singer is born, i really think think that jazz will be re invented, and liked again. Remember she was just 7 , see her today, just listen and the tears will come. Thank you Angelina for your music 💖🎶
Definitely rare though. You have to have like a specific set of genes and also be lucky enough to be born in a family that will support you and have you study music at such an early age to also be able to like live and breathe singing.
@O P it's very true every 100 years or every 200 years we have another person like that Frank Sinatra said that he had the best voice ever he started singing when he was 10 years old he's a legend they call him the son of Mexico Luis Miguel he has sold over 200 million records he's being in the biggest stages and he's the biggest spanic singer another one Cristian Castro star when he was only a little boy her mother one of the biggest actress in Mexico he's father one of the biggest comedians Michael Jackson he started when he was little boy
I've viewed Angelina's progress through this show many many times because I enjoy it so much. At the start I just love her thumbs up to start and the flick of her hair. A true professional already.
OMG ... amazing, incredible, wonderful ... such an absolutely AMAZING voice! Just saw her American's Got Talent at 13 and she STILL amazes! I could listen to her all day!
That was stunning!! So young and so unique! Her originality and talent reminds me of Courtney Hadwin. Except Angelina is so very young to have stage presence and talent like that. Amazing!!

Here it is with over half of February gone, 2022. I’ve been listening to all three performances, just about every morning. Shower, breakfast, whatever… you gotta love this girl! I just never tire listening. 💐🌸💐🌺

Maybe because she sings songs with adult themes and even for someone so young, she has this talent to convey the emotions of these songs. For example, take Bang Bang, she sings it like she lived it for real. It's all there, the sadness, the heartbreak, the sense of betrayal, the melancholy, all those emotions sung with dignity. She doesn't even try to impress us, although I am very much. She's just telling a story in song and I almost believe it's true. It's crazy.
When you get somebody who's a really good singer on a show like this that shocks the entire room the audience will 95% of the time be clapping whistling and screaming throughout the performance. But what happens here I've only seen a handful of times it's like Cody Lee's first performance you get the initial crowd reaction when they first hear her voice and then the room is completely silent because they are mesmerized by the once-in-a-lifetime talent they are viewing and they sit there in stunned silence until the very end
I am going crazy over Angelina right now but I found this performance not as strong! She seemed bored of it and the guitar effect was distracting. Maybe I just find the song bland, she's incredible..
