Genius. He makes all the participants look good and he starts off by creating low expectations but then consistently raises the bar. His sense of timing is amazing.
His genius, as Howie was pointing out, is that he has brought the art of Mime to the modern world on prime time television. The face paint. The striped uniform. The body language. Building a world in the mind of the audience, and adding new polish to old fashioned parlor tricks. Genius.
Saw him at a stand up show years ago in Birmingham and he was brilliant. The way he was getting audience members to do the most ridiculous things just by facial expressions! Always keep an eye out for his name
@essennagerry He tours the world he is originally from new zealand i remember seeing a show from him years and years before he went on agt, not sure if he still goes by the name but his name originally was "The boy with tape on his face" then he did agt and tape face stuck
One of the most original acts I've ever seen and funniest. If I ever return to Las Vegas I hope Tape Face is still performing there. After years I still remember him and every act he did on AGT.
@Commander Keen Jerry did pantomime over in France where he was very successful and was known for being a famous silent clown over there. By that time, people in the US knew him as a loud crazy man-child of the Martin and Lewis comedy team and would find his silent pantomime act too out-of-character here.
Probably the best I've ever seen as far as comedy is concerned. Audience participation on stage , floor Audience swinging to the beat. He's certainly on a whole other level 🤣 & without one word spoken . Genius 👏👏👏
I am watching him again and again! BTW in his interviews he is absolutely charming and full of charisma, and his live shows are brilliant. In AGT he had a time limit unfortunately.

Awesome to see our Kiwi New Zealand boy Sam Wills known as Tape Face on America's Got Talent. He has such an original act. He is a pure genius and brilliant entertainer. Proud to see a fellow New Zealander making a name for himself on the world stage. 🙂
I love this! It's soo cool how very individual and unique we can all be. I think about how I just about missed this. How many other amazing things are out there that we go through life never seeing or knowing about. This guy is Great!
Tape Face got robbed by not winning that season. He is truly talented. Like a nouveau mime that doesn't suck. Dude could have been a huge hit in Vegas or something, idk
His talent lies in being liked no matter what. His talent lies in perfect management of audience mood and expectation honed in to second-to-second performance.
So I have to be honest here, I only saw his first performance when he was on the show. I never ever saw his other performances ever. So I am very glad that these are on TRvid. I love TapeFace. He is hilarious, and amazingly talented.

Tape Face, we hope you're somewhere being an absolute riot and as successful as possible. This is truly a wonderful watch! Loved every minute of your just light hearted demeanor and creative humor. Hats off my friend!
These acts and concepts seem so simple yet Tape Face makes it so incredibly entertaining by exaggerating his actions as well as playing with audio, you can really get a feel of this character he is playing and not once has he needed to speak a word. THAT takes true talent.
The true art in this is to pick the right audiance member to mess with and to measure exactly how much you can get away with. If you pick badly and the person just refuses to do whatever you want them to do or worse, if you do something that crosses one of these invisible lines it can easily torpedo your whole show. The lady he picks at 14:49, that was a bad pick. He was dangerously close to what he could get away with. Any more and she would likely have stormed off the stage.
I don´t know why, but I just love him! He is so weird, creepy and funny. I first thought he was some kind of a "singing" ventriloquist (the first act with those kitchen mittens) But as it turns out, he is so much more lol! =D
I find him totally hilarious and creative. His acts are so unique and original and I laugh every damn time! At first I wanted to dislike him cuz I thought he was going to be obnoxious but I was an idiot and juged a book by it's taped up cover lol
Tape face is an absolute legend. He was my favourite act in that season( 10 or 11, I don't remember ) I loved his comedy and weirdness, and everything about him!!! Amazing man!! I'm pretty sure he's speechless on how far he went... Tape Face the legend...
Literally the best clown I've ever seen. Especially since I didn't even realize he was a clown until I heard he was trained by one. We need more Tape Face
I know I've seen this comment on another one of his videos but it needs to be said again: Someone who can make an entire audience die with laughter with a pair of oven mitts deserves some recognition
